Hey guys,

Right...set of decent coilovers which will be for road and track use but want them to be electronically adjustable from inside the car...

Why? My driveway :(

When I had the splitter on the car if I didn't go snails pace the car would scuff it getting on and off....so if I lowered the car I'd be screwed :(

Basically what I want is when I come home in the evening is to be able to make the car higher without getting out and adjusting each one.

A) Is this possible
B) How ludicrously expensive is it likely to be?

Ta :D

EDIT: Otherwise I'd go for a set of Gaz or Koni's or something..

Tein offer coilovers that adjust damping force, but perch/ride height? I doubt it.

Search Tein EDFC however Im unsure if you'll be able to 'officially' get them. civic coilovers might fit as a guess...

It sounds stupidly expensive!

The only electronically adjustable systems I know of can only change the damping force. I think only airbags and raise and drop the car like that.

The only ones i have come across are Teins, but the ones that do are very expensive i.e. over a grand for the dampers alone.

Can't think of how a coil system could do that, not cheaply anyway, only way would be air/hydraulics.

Very expensive... you mean, normally priced for reasonable coilovers? nearly anything worth having is over a grand... (Bilstein PSS9's, KWv3's, Tein Monotube, Nitrons, Ohlins etc etc)

Phate out of interest how would you expect such a system to work? My S for example has a hugely complex air compressor and distribtuion system which runs all over the car in little brass pipes to the struts, along with loads of electronics to regulate the shocks.

Even the xantia has a hugely complex hydraulic system with high pressure brass pipes running all over the car, along with a reservoir and pumps and pressure accumulators etc.

Are you really going to want to fit ALL of that? It would be a mammoth job!

Cheers, I'll take a look. I would think Civic ones could fit as my castor adjusters are for a Civic TypeR

park on the road?

My road is quite thin, and although quiet you do get chavs speeding up and down it, so I'd rather keep my wing mirrors thanks!

Why? Surely you should buy a straight one before considering handling upgrades.

The car is straight, get your facts right first eh? ;)

Just... don't bother ?!

My car handles well as standard, but I've been in one on a decent set of coileys and it really transforms the car :D

Put it on bags.

Oh and your driveway is simples, don't drive like a tard and it'll be fine. And the ZS doesn't need lowering...just selling. :p

No Rob seriously, when I had the front splitter on if I didn't go REALLY slowly, (and I mean slower than you) it would scuff. If the whole car was that low I actually wouldn't be able to get on the driveway.

Reasonable coilovers?

You mean top shelf, very high end dampers.

£500-800 is good mid range stuff on cars that are not "performance".

Witchcraft and a trip to ollivanders? :p

I honestly have no idea, was wondering if its possible on a fancy set of coilovers really :D - As I need to have it if I want to go for a coilover route. I could get ramps for the driveway, but they'd only get nicked!
