i already own the first one and quite liked it. Is nighfall worth a look or should i get factions.
Do you get anything special for owning all the copies.
Have i left it a bit late now with nighfall cause i expect there all lvl 20 characters
Is there a any guilds looking for new members hint hint ;)

Well if you're worried about lvl20s then nightfall would be your best bet as its the most recent. Infact when comparing factions and nightfall i would say nightfall is far superior apart from the fact that the ritualist is awesome and the fact that all the 15k armours look kinda fugly in nightfall.

So yeah... get nightfall

ok

So i dont have to bother getting factions then even if i dont play it, will i still get the extra class?

The only way to get the Ritualist and Assasin are via Factions, you can pick it up for not much these days so its worth it for that, but Nightfall is still a superior game.

Don't forget to link all three chapters! Otherwise you won't be able to bring characters from one chapter across to the others.

I just went on guildwars after seeing this thread and I seem to have a birthday present but can't open it :(

I only have the first guild wars, was thinking of getting a char or 2 to level 20 ready for the new expansion.

Was just looking around and I notice the two other expansions are only £10 each incl delivery, might wait for the newer one tho.

I also noticed "post processing" just blurs the image :(

what so say if i got my warrior/monk from prophieces then i could use him in the factions and nightfall campaign?
How will i get to use the new classes not in prophicies will they be open to me when i install factions and nightfall?

Yeah, but you have to link the chapters together. On the start screen click the "Create Account or Add Access Key" link and then tick the "Add access key to existing account" box. Do this for both the Factions and Nightfall keys to link all three chapters.

Yeah, once you've installed the relevant chapters you'll have the opportunity to create the chapter specific professions.

Azagoth has already been in this thread and hasnt even asked me to join his guild, dont you think thats a bit rude  ;)

Let me know your in-game name and I'll send you an invite. :)

Nightfall is great, just getting to the end now, trying to use a 130hp Dervish/Monk to farm some cash... I say trying but I just got the final skill I needed last night and I had mixed success using the build.

I wouldn't worry about other characters beng level 20 either, it's not as if it's difficult to get there, especially in Factions/Nightfall. :D It's all about the skills you use! Besides, there's always a few people starting out new chars to get through the missions with. Nightfall also gives you Heroes which are like Henchmen butyou control their skills, armour, etc...

Mortals, you sure you can't open the Birthday present? Just double clicking? How long have you owned the game for, not sure if the presents have a life-span...

if i was buying guild wars again, i would get nightfall first, just for the heroes, they will help when you play the other games when nobody else is there to play with :)

I tried but it wouldn't work :( the text was greyed out aswell.

I went onto my other old character and it also had a present which opened ok :) I got a mini-scorpid pet :D

I think maybe they have a lifespan or something as I've had the game since near when it was released :)

Tbh, if you really liked GW then get both Nightfall & Factions :) They add a lot of new challenges.

Its true that Nightfall is more geared to those that don't want to rush to lvl 20. I think Arena net were experimenting a lot with both chapters. I still loved Factions though. The ritualist class was worth the price alone for me. Used to be that Mesmer was my fav primary until Rit came along. But they are all good for both chapters. Currently enjoying Dervish. Oh and the heroes of course really define Nightfall. Great idea to give you more control.

Yay its on its way :)

Anyway im not sure what character i want to be. I like playing as a warrior so i need a secondary proffesion that would maybe boost my damage output so any recommendations :)

Warrior/Elementalist with corresponding elemental axe/sword/hammer and attunement skills is pretty good. Or possibly Warrior/Ritualist to utilise some of the Ritualist weapon spells.

I'm about to get back into GW again but I only have the Vanilla version (I think it's called Prophecies??)...

Is there any point in my going in and starting again from scratch???

The Warrior/Ritualist sounds interesting so how would he work then to be a good damage dealer?
