Another New Car Thread ....

Yeah I'm sure if he wants to spend 20 hours changing his alternator he'll give you a call ;)

Anyway, good to see you getting stuck in with the mods already :)

Well I don't see anyone else offering any help ;)

Yes it may have taken a while to do the work but the book time for an alternator change on mine is 5hours. Considering I took 6 hours and didn't really know what I was doing isn't bad!

Been like that for a while now, when i had my astra i paid £28 delivered for a 6000k set with 12 month warranty :)

diane-shop on ebay is the seller who used to be cheapest, but theres loads on there now that can easily match/beat their prices!

Wow, and they were ok? Worth fitting them to everything now at that price! (Hows the house?)

They were fine, the only thing i'd say is to fit the ballasts to a flat, metal surface (where possible) so it creates some kind of earth.

Mine ran perfect, and i'd buy another set if it wasn't for me having non-projector headlights!

House... Mortgage has now been agreed and paperwork is being drawn up, builders are now back to the house doing the finishing touches (paint, carpets etc) and i should be in for October :D

Very ncie purchase Sam, extremely jealous :)

Fingers crossed I'm going for a job that's 1.5miles from my flat and quite a bit more money. So if I get it I'll definately be getting a toy :D Whether it be car or bike I don't know though.

Hopefully will get started on this job tonight but unsure if im going to have time as work have offered loads of overtime and if im going to fund a set of £1200 Nitron coilovers i need to get my butt into gear :p

Bad news about the problems, but hey fixing them will be fun :D

You're driving a Renault Traffic everywhere? o_0 Lol :D

Awesome fella, first I've seen of this!!

What you done with that clio? It really impressed me on the on the RR day, would love one as a daily driver.

That instrument binnacle looks perfect to me for a stack dash..... and don't forget boost starts at 2 bar ;)

This is how i left it at 10:30, Have all the bolts out of the clam BUT ONE !

When i bought it i was told there was some very light damage to the passenger side light area where an old man reveresed into it. After taking the arch liner out i can see how minor this is but when it went to the bodyshop for a respray they have done a CRAP job putting the clam back on. Missing washers and all sorts. The bolt i cannot get out they have cross threaded AND round the head off and its in a nasty place so im unsure what to do.

Sorry not much of a progress post because there was no light and theres only so many pictures you can take of removing bolts :p

Clam off finally, after 30 minutes on the phone to muncher he gave a quick simply idea and bosh the job was done

What a PITA this was, the screws behind the rad were a nightmare to get out and the ones in front had to be drilled out.

Old Radiator

A comparison of the two, a bit annoyed that i couldent see where it was leaking from but then again i couldent really put it under any pressure.

Nice work Sam. Never really took you to be one to get stuck in, especially as I'm sure you said something about getting Renault to do everything on the Clio...glad to see you are doing it yourself. Once sorted you need to take me for a ride...not a spin. :p

Good work :) I told you the screws behind the surround would be a pain!

The most important thing is you've got a dry(ish) barn to do it in.
