assuming its a write off, ill need a motorway cruiser for say £2k, will stretch for something decent (5 series or something), what do you guys reccomend, i do not want another mondeo due to it being so utterly boring, and the seats being quite uncomfortable.

Ideally would like an auto, ideally german, 5 series or 3 series would be great, also what are peoples views on old c class mercs? around 98 sort of age in the sport/esprit trim, 2L or above would be nice too so its not gutless.

was looking through the 1 grand budget car thread and was quite suprised at the sort of car you can get for bargain prices, so im hoping 2k might get something decent

cheers!

In what way is a C Class less boring than a Mondeo? You won't find thrills on the Motorway tbh

at least it will be more comfortable, my current commute is about 35miles motorway, 20miles A road.

Cant seem to find many beemers that are decent near me, found a 328, but it seems on the high side price wise for its age, and the leather looks worn 328

To be honest most £2k Beemers are either really really old or really really tired, or polished and shiney turds. It isn't where my £2k would go. Vauxhall Omega?

aye thats what i found hence why i looked over at some mercs, those omega's look good value for cash

edit: fun isnt the primary thing here, mentioned the mondeo being boring as it lacked power and the drive just felt dull, not saying it was a bad car because it wasn't
