another project log? oh go on then, make it a parvum

Love it!

I am saving for my parvum build currently. Can't get enough. Subbed.

Thanks man they are awesome cases, a little bit too good really, they hide all the cables too much haha!!

I find shrinkless paracord so much easier than with the phobya stuff I tried my first sleeving attempts with.

Yet to get my grubby litle mitts on some stiffline MDPC-X stuff though...

Yeah, the phobya stuff isnt great imo, MDPC-X is awesome, im going to buy some of lutro0s stuff for my next stiffline job though i think, seee what thats like!

man, i just love these parvum cases :), im awaiting on there new one to be on sale (if it ever does ), so i can buy one for myself :D

im sure they will bang them for sale asap, they are getting a lot of attention, i know i want one too ;)

It's on the male end ;) Does look good though...

it depends which website you look on :P some people say thats the female end as the pins have holes in, so the pins on the mobo slot into it some say its a male as it slots into the female end....

most places i go on see it like this (stolen from lutroo) :P

from now on, i think il just call it "the buisness end" lets face it, its the only end we care about really :P

yeah same here, in the "business" end the pins have a hole, in the other end the pins stick into the businesses ends holes <---- wtf am i typing rofl.

but the end with the female pins, slots into the end with male pins!!!

bloomin confusing i tell thee

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z87X-D3H Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £119.99
Total : £127.73 (includes shipping : £6.45).

this mobo would have looked neat it this build :)

thats the exact motherboard that i was going to use if i went haswell, but its just too.... dark :/

i did look into just spraying it, if it was my computer, i would have gone through with it, but trying to convince someone your going to spray 120 quids worth of motherboard is really hard.

Tbh, i think this one will do ok, he certainly wont be doing anything high end with it!

i like your thinking though ;)

Thanks :), i guess it is just a bit too dark for the parvum case you have. i didnt know mobos could be sprayed, can you just spray it or is there certain parts of it which needs to be covered other than the connection ports ?

well, ive never done it before, but, from what i understand you cover all pins/connectors/slots etc, remove the cmos battery etc and just use a non conductive paint :/

if you were to do it, id look into it a lot more i was going through the motions before i was told he didnt want to void his warranty =(

This is from another site, but its the start...

Not yet unfortunately, there won't be any more progress on this now for at least 2 weeks =( working away from home for a while! Will hopefully try and get the water loop done when I get back though as well as the gpu and shield!

Well, tonight for one night only im home (YAYZ!!!!) it means i can do a little bit of work on the parvum...

im not sure how i feel about this, i do like the idea, but im not sure of the execution of it, i thought id give it a try, im sure if it doesnt grow on me, i could get the parvum guys to send me another bit of case up for a few quid :D

So, i bought this from the MM,

Obviously, parvums dont have a drive bay, but i did want there to be some control over the fans, so a little bit of a mod will have to take place.

It came apart really easy tbh, just took off the 6 knobs (hehe, i said knob) and a few screws and it all came away, result, i was expecting to have to do a lot more work.

Now the worrying bit, drilling holes into a beautiful case.... at the front, sides, back, even top wouldnt have bothered me so much, but i hate doing the fronts :/

i marked out all the 12 holes id need, 6 for the bits stems to go through and 6 for the leds.

i then got the drill out and missed most of the markings it seems :mad::mad::mad:

they look all over the place, i wondered how the hell this happened, as i did check, double check, triple check and then had a beer to ponder how best to do it. oh. i think i see where the problem lies.

Nah, its not too bad, once i put the controller onto the back, it seems that i had indeed marked the holes correctly, everything fit right, so maybe its the leds and knobs (hehehe, i said it again) that are slightly bent on the fan controller, in hindsight i should have checked.

They are not 100% straight, but it does take close up pictures, of just the area to notice the problem, also, it would help if i took the photos from a correct angle rather than swaying slightly.

I just need to paint the knobs (3rd times a charm) to suit the colour scheme and im done with this little mod!

well, as i say, im not sure if it will stay like this, i have noticed im going to have some issues getting the side onto the case with this in, but i should be able to mod my way out of that problem. im going to give it till the end of the build, and if i dont like it, il send some cash to the lads for a new panel.

Saw the parvum case in your sig after you replied to my in the motoring section! Had to have a look since I own a parvum case as well. Your build looks sweet! A lot of work has gone into it. Love what you've done with the fan controller! Wouldn't mind something like that if I wasn't running my fans off my mobo.

Still looks mighty fine even with the slight wobble on it, fan controller idea is great, perhaps paint the knobs (lol knobs) up to match the case colouring? or maybe do them in white with a blue indicator mark.
