Another spec my build £1200

I don't know know if I can justify dropping £419 on the rtx 2070....

I said that to my wife about having a 3rd kid... Low and behold ,we are having a 3rd.. so I got an RTX 2080 to play on 20 mins in the morning whilst kids eat breakfast and before I go to work. If I'm going to game.. will game in style before it gets sold or gathers rust !!! Haha

Tamz rtx 2070 £1200 is a Damn good system for the price !

Thanks for all the input. I'm pretty set on the spec now. Just torn about which graphics card and maybe a different case to the phanteks but I do like the white eclipse p400.

One other question HDMI or DP? I will probably look at ordering it all next week and then I will report back once built with maybe a picture of the mess I create inside the case.

Would you go for a ryzen 7 1700 with wraith spire cooler over the ryzen 5 2600. I have found a ryzen 7 and is only £9 more?

depends on what your using the system for, pure gaming ryzen 2600x for £180 isn't bad - specially with £20 cooler hit 4.2ghz all cores or leave stock cooler for dual core 4.2ghz

1700 would in theory last longer due to 8 core design and should clock 3.8ghz all cores again with a good cooler, some can push 4ghz with some voltage and AIO

ryzen 2600 is about £144

pure gaming 2600x is better currently, cuz better ipc and overboost in comparison to the 1700.
of course, 5-6 years down the line...who knows? if games become highly multithreaded then 1700 could be better...

Right I'm going to order this tonight so last minute check. Thanks for all the advice and help it's appreciated.

Ryzen 5 2600 - I can always add an aftermarket cooler later.

Msi pro carbon mother board b450 - it's been recommended in this thread a few times.

Sapphire vega 56 - reading up on this with an overclock and undervolt this could last me well. If the new Navi cards come out and prices drop on other cards then I might change it in a year or two.

Vengeance 2x8g ddr4 3000mhz 16-18-18-36 - again it's been recommended in this thread.

Teamgroup 1tb SSD - thought I would go to 1tb as I like playing a variety of games.

Antec HCG 650w 80 plus gold power supply - recommended in this thread and reading that the vega 56 is power hungry this should hopefully be enough.

Corsair carbide 270r case - like the design and I'm pretty sure it comes with a few fans.

AOC G2590PX monitor - 144hz and a decent price.

Corsair k55 keyboard and harpoon mouse bundle.

Corsair gaming void headset

Any last minute tweaks? This all comes in at £1250 shopping around a bit including a few little bits on top. (Mouse mat, Ethernet cable, usb stick for Windows.) I think this is a good starting point with room to upgrade maybe a component every year or two to keep up?

Thanks

Keyboard, mouse and headset came to about £130 so I could save some money there and add it to getting a 2600x but I'm thinking longer term with the peripherals. I take it that the new gen ryzen will be compatible with my motherboard?

Yes, and the MSI 450 Pro Carbon is a solid VRM choice for future Ryzen releases. You would have to spend considerably more to get better VRM cooling on a full size board. The MSI Carbon Pro is considered best in class for 'full size ATX' B450.
