Another spec my build £1200

Yes, and the MSI 450 Pro Carbon is a solid VRM choice for future Ryzen releases. You would have to spend considerably more to get better VRM cooling on a full size board. The MSI Carbon Pro is considered best in class for 'full size ATX' B450.

The Asus B450-E is supposedly the best B450 board in the VRM department, but not widely available for some reason. I have seen it listed for £123.90 though which puts it in the same price category as the B450 Gaming Pro Carbon.

Yes, but not for his budget - but it is a stonking board (was hard to get for a while - and availability is still oddly low - late to the table and high price may be a reason.).

Your search skills are obviously better than mine - or you're prepared to buy from places i wouldn't give my details looking at suppliers below £150 (admittedly, i am overly careful - but never been scammed - yet. :/).

Spire are Asus distributor for that board .. least you know what entry x570 boards look like now . Oddly enough same as Aorus/gigabyte z390 boards.....

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,127.66 (includes shipping: £20.82)

The place that has it for £124 is a European store but they are supposedly well known in their respective Country (CZ Republic). Not sure if they have a UK warehouse though or ship direct from CZ and I haven't used them myself so I can't vouch for them. The MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon is a solid choice though either way.

Yeah, that ASUS got fantastic reviews and then wasn't anywhere to be seen/had in the UK - odd as it couldn't take advantage of the great press - it would certainly have got specced a lot here had the price been competitive.

And now it's starting to appear, sporadically, just as Ryzen 3000 is about to debut along with it's corresponding b550/x570 boards - odd again. I presume they hit their market quota with their target audience the Americans(?) (@orbitalwalsh - what was the thinking behind the distribution of this one?)

Yeah not sure why more retailers don't have it listed. Seems to be a solid board, although the only two UK stores have it at around £165 so still a bit pricey considering the ASRock Taichi can be had for just over £180.

There've been some comments from buyers that either the wifi module (which is not onboard and takes up a PCI slot if you use it) or the antennas, or both, were missing from the box, even after buying twice. Don't know if that has anything to do with it.

The Asus PG279QZ monitor also can't be found in UK or Europe for some reason. It's about $150 cheaper than the Q right now and pretty much the same according to a review I saw (rtings on youtube), just less brightness.

Pretty happy with the price it all came to. Hopefully building it goes ok and I don't have too many problems. Spent a bit more on the peripherals but I don't plan on changing them like I do with the spec in a year or two. Thanks for all the help with choosing the parts and I will report back once I'm up and running.

Yea the extra fans make 4 in total. Would you go 3 fans in at the front and 1 exhaust at the back? Or 2 in at the front and 1 exhaust at the back and 1 top ?

So doesn't look like I will get it tomorrow now. Ocuk emailed to say the fans were out of stock so i called them up at 15.00 to pay for another fan bundle and to check that I would still receive delivery tomorrow as I paid extra for the Saturday delivery.

They told me that yes I would and the payment has gone through straight away. Just checked my emails to see if I have got the dispatch notification and had an email at 17:20 that the new fans I have ordered are out of stock (showing 5 in stock when I ordered). The whole order hasn't been processed and I need to call to confirm what I want to do. The phone lines are shut. Not happy tbh wish they just sent the order and I could have got some fans in a day or so.

That's what the email says and on my order status at ocuk it ststes "order received - not yet shipped". Annoying that I got the email at 5.20 and the phone lines are already closed by then.

Half tempted to drive the 230 mile round trip to pick it up lol. Got stuff I need to do tomorrow so not really practical.

Lines should be open tomorrow, they do dispatch till late .
Mobo and desktop shops display different stock levels which is a pain !
