Ant infestation

Ants also use scents/. Are you arachnophobic? If not, get some spiders. When the ants see the spider they give off scents of danger and the other ants won't go there.

Where would we be without the discovery channel?

To get them out of the house, just suck em up with a Dyson, lets see if their weak bodies can withstand cyclone lossless power:D

Nippon Ant Killer gel

Only thing that i have found that works.

But be prepared for the number of ants to go up as they are attracted to this and take it back to the nest . The Queen Eats it and so does everyone else

and they pop there clogs.

Job done .

Takes about 7 days and you have to change the bait daily .

My ant numbers dropped after 2 days and were gone after 4.

This, I got the little round trap ones, break of the little tabs to allow the ants in, put in their path they use to get in your house, and sit back and enjoy the rest of your summer. Totally effective, we had them in a big line marching into the kitchen along various surfaces, like the owned the bloody place, tried hovering them up, using the powder to stop them coming in, all totally usless, untill the arrival of the Nippon ant trp thing majjiggy.

I have the same problem around July/August every year, in the extension well away from any food sources, it seems our Dining room is loved by the flying stage ants.

We've taken to putting down the gel traps and powder at the points where we think they get in starting early (we've tried filling in any visible gaps:p), which works on and off - we never see a worker ant, but we never know if we're going to get the flying ants until they appear in large numbers.

If you can find the main nest, half a dozen kettles full of boiling water will go a long way to getting rid of the colony or at least giving them the hint to move on. Not only will the boiling water kill off lots of them, it collapses a fair chunk of their tunnel network closing off any avenues they have already built and use to make their way towards your home.

Couple that up with Nippon Ant Gel as already mentioned and that should do the trick.

Is it possible they are getting in to your loft through the eves, and getting your dining room internally?

As for the OP, just pour boiling water over the nest. Done.

Put a large dollop of something sweet on a bit of cardboard or plastic, and cover the floor around the cardboard with ant powder.

Reds rule, why are they more aggresive, infact do Reds save their injured?

Best thing about Blacks, if you cripple one of them... another will carry them back home. Brings a tear to my eye at times.

We use some red stuff, basically once the ant touches it, it stays on them... so once they hit the nest they all catch it and die.

i know there was a "flea bomb" should be one for ants too.. what you do is set it up with your windows/doors etc closed.. fire it up.. leave the house, come back after 30mins.. let the smoke out.. it should be gone in a few days... well the fleas were... ;)

The best way to stop and remove ants is put talcum powder down, ants hate this. Once you put this down they will go and not return.

I have done this for years at various properties and it has never failed to remove them.:)

Came home this afternoon and around 50-100 ants were running around in my living room on the carpet and on my TV stand etc.

I have put down Ant powder down outside at the fornt of my house and that should stop any more coming in, however whats the best way to "force" the ants back out that are inside my living room?

Do you live next to Britboy?

Ants nearly always follow trails except for the adventurers. Ant powder the trails and hoover up the rest. It's not hard.
