Unfortunately the BB style phones (ChaCha) physically enforce the once thing I hate about on-screen keyboards, having half the screen space when typing.
I should have probably said I am looking for phones with slide out keyboards (like the Doubleshot) so I can have a full size screen at all times.
I'm eager for an Android phone so that rules out the HTC Pro 7. The Desire Z is certainly a candidate. I currently have the HTC Hero and the laggyness is just killing me so I'm after the fastest phone I can find. I might give up on getting a QWERTY keyboard and get a Samsung Galaxy S II.

The Z is pretty much EOL now, it's been out 9 months and in Android development that practically makes you a pensioner. That doesn't stop it from being a good device, just that there are better candidates really. And honestly, you'll be fine without the physical kb. you get used to it really quickly.
I thought BlackBerry's were meant to be pretty reliable? I haven't used one for extended periods of time so I couldn't really comment but most people I know with one seem to think they're incredibly reliable/bulletproof/etc!
They are pretty much reliable and bulletproof...just some people like to **** on BB's because they arent as fancy or as powerful as the Android or iphone.
Personally i absolutely loathe typing on a touchscreen...my iphone4 i use sparingly as i just cant type out a reply quick enough without spelling or grammar mistakes etc.
