Hey all.

Downloaded LOTRO trial client last night, installed, patched up etc and today there was a maintenance till 3PM.

It says all servers are back online but for some reason it still wont connect, there's a red cross next to 'Update Programs' on the launcher.

Anybody else having this problem?

Cheers

Server connection issue-We are currently working on the problem and will resolve this issue as soon as possible

From the launcher.

This seems worse than WoWs maintenance days. :D

EDIT - It's working now :D

EDIT again : Can anybody recommend me a good class/race combo? I want something fun and fast. I'd prefer to stay away from tanking and healing as these classes are usually the most boring. :p

Level 6 so far and I'm loving it. It does actually feel different than WoW, the graphics and the overall feel of it really. The quests seem more meaningful.

There seems to be a lot to get my head around though... I don't fully understand what deeds are yet.

My PC can play the game fine with max settings, however I notice a few stutters. Even if my FPS is high I'll still stutter now and then. Maybe these are FPS spikes? Does this happen to any of you that play LOTRO??

Spec :
E4600 2.4Ghz- Stock
3870 Pro
2GB Ram

Cheers

Hey and thanks for your replys guys.

In WoW, they say people that play hunters are kids, a lot of the time it's true because they are a really easy class, easy to play etc.... But it can just be a stereotype aswell. I know a lot of skilled hunters. :)

I was actually going to take a hunter myself in LOTRO because I knew how fun they were in WoW, but my main is actually a hunter in WoW and I wanted something fresh.

What do you do in this game to restore your health? I've been to a food vendor and it seems the lowest level food you can buy is level 10 so that isn't very a good!

I also still haven't fixed the stutter problem yet. :(

Cheers!

what kind of stuttering? Grr, meant to get round to playing it today. Something/anything to do with going into town-ish area's with lots of npc's or other characters around. Often a cause of bad performance, or can be. NEw installs of the game always seemed to be slower for me, then got better with going into towns, sticking more character models into cache so they load faster next time? or just mind playing tricks on me, not sure. Other stuttering, can't remember, they do a update every night at 12-1am and at some point during that you can get stuck frequently as they update one zone at a time IIRC.

It's kinda like hitching. My FPS will stay high and as I'm walking in a forest for example, my FPS will spike for a second, it's as if they're loading stutters. I've defragged and everything, no crap running in the background.... Maybe it's a setting in game some where? My PC can handle ultra high fine, but if I set it to very low I don't think it stutters as much
