Any CRT's left in the forum?

I was forced to sell my beloved iiyama 22inch CRT on ebay (got £45 for it) two weeks ago. Now on crappy Benq 15inch special until i swop it for a widescreen stunner!

Sounds silly to some but CRT monitors are just the best! Dont sell it unless you have to.

22" IIyama Vision Master Pro 510
19" IIyama Vision Master Pro 450

My VM 510 is just sooo sweet with the BNC inputs :)

Wouldn't swap it for any of the LCD's I've seen except perhaps for those whopping big Apple LCD's.

I still use a Dell P1130 21 inch CRT, which is just a Sony Trinitron in a Dell case. Its the dogs :D . But it does take up a hell of desk space. I'm not going rid of it for a while yet though.

22 inch Compaq p1220, amazing image quality altho i am looking for a widescreen tft and have currently got my pc hooked up to my 32 inch hd tele :)

I had a 22" iiyama visionmaster. The one before was a 17" sony trinitron.

I thought they were great at the time until I made the switch to TFT. No way on gods earth would I EVER go back to a CRT. I'd rather have the worst TFT over the worlds best CRT anyday!!!

They are big, hot, blurry, the sides never go straight, flicker and make your eyes dry out. TFTs are more colourful, VERY sharp, no messing with getting straight edges and are just better :D

I suppose the only good thing about them are deep blacks and no dead pixels but to be honest it's rare to get dead pixels these days and the blacks aern't 'that' bad.

if you are a serious gamer then CRT can't be beaten by any TFT's, all of the major LAN tournaments i've been to they have all used CRT monitor's i think this tells you something! you can't beat the image quality or the ability to run high refresh rates that us serious gamers love

Mitsubishi Diamond pro 930SB.
I got it 2nd hand from M&M. Had it a few months then had a problem. Sent it back to Mitsu free of charge got it repaired and refurbed and it's still in use daily.
Brilliant warranty brilliant service and a brilliant picture.
I haven't seen anything that's better visually except of course HD.

I use a Sony G400 19" FD Trinitron. I've not seen a TFT that can touch the image quality of a Trinitron/Diamondtron CRT. It's big and uses a lot of desk space, but then I've got a big desk so it doesn't matter. Also nicely warms the room up so I don't need the heater on!

I have a 21" Sony Triniton and a 19" Hyundai i have tried a 19" tft but for some odd reason it just gave me headaces continuously untill i went back to the crt's and my eyes are fine before anyone says.

I was wondering why do i get headaches off tft's when they meant to stop things like this.

Cause it was too bright? On full brightness they can stupidly bright, and they often ship with the brightness too high for real everyday use.

And I'm running exactly the same, and had a problem, which was replaced free of charge. Excellent service imo and I've not seen a better picture.

I AM constantly tempted by the big range of widescreen TFT's though!

2 x 19" iiyamas
1 x 17" iiyama and a 17" panasonic.
I was toying with the idea of treating myself to a 20" w/s tft for xmas but I'm a bit scared to now with talk of headaches from tft's  . Mind you I don't have any problems when I use my inspiron 8500 for hours on end, but that does have a bloody good screen. Huum, scared and confused, and I'm not playing gothic 3 right now :p

mitsubishi 230sb here 22"

i would never use a TFT, they are useless at gaming imo

and ive tried a few

I have a Cornerstone 24" CRT montior (takes half the front room up)
for about the next 2hours as my 2407 is sat waiting at home for me to set up :)

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee tft goodness
never had a tft before so this should be awsome

had a mitsubishi diamond pro 930SB for about 4 years, had a new tube fitted after 2 years 10 months :D warantee service was impeccable. still have it as a spare.

I didn't think i would ever be buying an LCD monitor as all the ones i had seen were dull and looked blocky/pixelated compared to my 930SB.
I've just bought an NEC MultiSync 90GX2 TFT from OcUK and the quality is amazing! colours are so vivid, text is sharp and bright, and there is so much depth of field in games.

recently bought new pc and a 17" crt with it, crt was £45, as i thought id spend more money on my graphics card than getting £100 tft and a cheaper graphics card, and yet, i have better image quality than a tft and a better graphics card!!

my mates tft can only do 1024*768 @ 65hz, now that is terrible! and his image quality is nowhere near my crt's and his cost £50 more.

unless your getting a widescreen or pretend you need that extra cubic foot of space then there is no logic in getting lcd/tft whatsoever.

and you get a free heater with your crt as well :D
