Any final things I should try before sending my GPU back?

Quick rundown:

after downloading drivers the card worked.
after restarting my pc I had no display and switched back to mobo.
after uninstalling/reinstalling drivers the card worked again.
after restarting it stopped again.
I checked the bios - everything looked like it should've been working - so I disabled the intergrated graphics to try that; nope. I had to remove the battery thing (reset the cmos?) from the MOBO to get any display again.

After this, I called up and I was given 28 days to send the card back. as i've been busy i've delayed it for a while but I guess I need to do it soon... any other human error it could've been ect? everything is plugged in properly, in the right pci slot ect... any advice would be appreciated. thank you!

GPU: MSI r9 280x
MOBO - z87 HD3

Try it in another pc if available.

Make sure you remove the integrated drivers before installing the amd drivers.

How did you test for the card when you said it was working?

Have you got the latest BIOS on your motherboard?

update using bios extracted to usb memory stick then reboot into bios and flash using qflash

theres other things to try aswell if that doesn't cure it

no other pc unfortunately, hmm I'm not sure if I did that actually - i'm not sure how i'd go about that either but thank you, ill look into it

HDMI display, display port, and had a session of crysis at max settings so it definitely was working

theres something in the bios about legacy but I cant remember exactly,you set it from uefi to legacy

also try with the backup bios switch position on the graphic card

That should have given an error code if it was the cause. Can't think of anything else to be honest.

thank you, however if the other bios works whilst this one doesn't it still means there's a problem with the card right?

now that you mention it I think it actually came up somewhere that windows prevented this device from working as it had issues or something.

Error code 43? Usually means a bad PCI-E slot or bad GPU. I had to RMA my card for the same reason.

hmm. it was under device manager and had a little message saying windows had disabled the device. now that message isn't there... hmm. I'll see if it works now (no idea why it would've changed though). If i remove the intel drivers will I get no display if the GPU is still not working?

no it will use either Windows Intel vga drivers and or just standard vga adaptor.

one bios is uefi I think? on gpu

also tried setting to legacy in the mb bios?

found a screenshot from before of the problem - yes, it was error code 43! now that it isn't showing im confused but hey
