Any ideas what I can do about these lights?

First off, I rent so can't make any major changes.

I have some directional lights in my living room. The problem is that any angle the lights are at, they get in the way (ie shine in my eyes when I am sitting down or watching TV.

My solution at the moment is to only have two on, but that means the room is not very bright. and even still, there is one of those that gets in the way. There is nowhere that I can point them that they won't get in the way.

Can't really see in the picture at that zoom, but what bulbs are they? Something like a GU10? You can get them in loads of different beam angles. So a bulb with a 120° angle would be a lot wider spread and less intense than a bulb with a 40° angle.

Alternatively take them down and replace them then just put them back before you move out.

They are MR16...all of which are 40*.

I wouldn't want to take it down as I will probably end up damaging something.

Looks like the sort of design where you can move the lights along the bar as well as adjust the angle of them.

It is, but there isn't anywhere I can put them where they aren't in the way.

Other than swapping it for a pendant and lamp shade, my only suggestion is that you sit in the dark!

as in the design trade you can always spray the bulbs with High Temperature Spray Paint vitcas range ,works well with the correct colour
