Any point in normal TV with iPlayer and Sky Player

£70... a month

And people say Sky are expensive, holy crap man!

The 70 includes internet (20meg) + Sky sports with the TV :)

and we split it between 4.

Looks like I might be using the TV more than I think. I can't get the BElkin usb wireless adapter to detect the network. My friends MacBook picks up about 20 networks, mine picks up 3...

I ran to PC world at lunch and picked up those powerline network adapters... so I now my net is working via the mains. Problem is I only get about 5meg of the 20meg connection. My friend's MacBook gets 14meg using the same speed test.

I know it's unrelated to the topic, but does anyone know what the best wireless adapter (USB) is, that money can buy? e.g. longest range

In all fairness, although I could go without a TV, I think I should still pay the licence fee as I use so many BBC services. I watch BBC news 24 daily aswell as the news website, I listen to Radio1 on the way home and use iPlayer. I think I get value for money from the beeb.

Repeats of dads army, repeats of the news every 15 minutes, and Chris Moyles, and you think this is good value for money?;)

This.

BBC TV 1-4 and Radios 1, 4, 5, 6 & 7 as well as the website and iPlayer are easily the best value TV backage I pay for.

If i am wrong how can the TV Licensing people prove that people are watching online TV on the net? Tracking the IP address?

Liam

You don't need a TV License to watch programmes on the internet - unless you are watching a live feed.

How do they TV License people know if your are watching a live feed on the internet? They don't unless you let them in and show them, much in the same way as they don't know if your watching TV on your normal TV.

Sky + doesn't cost anything extra. Even if you want the 4 or so hd channels that aren't on freesat it's still £67. Let's be honest there isn't much in it. ;)

all boxes are sky+ now? i thought a hd and sky+ box was a tenner, still, i was close enough :D
