Any possibility of fixing this corrupted graphics card?

Got an ASUS 4670 here, but it will only output a corrupted image to the screen.
Anyone got any ideas on if it's fixable myself? I read somewhere about popping cards in the oven to reseal bust solder points, would that help in this case?

Any ideas appreciated.

I've heard the oven trick, should be last resort though, and I am guessing its out of warrenty.

Download Hwmonitor and see what the temps are, you could try reseat the hs and get rid of the dust.

Nah, didn't help. Put on some MX2 and no luck. It won't actually boot into windows with this card installed. It BSODs shortly after the pictures I took.

Right, pizza is done, nicely crisp, ham and pineapple with extra grated organic cheddar on top (was on sale at sainsburys this week), hmmm....tasty.
Graphics card in the oven, lets hope it turns out just as tasty.

I just put the whole PC in the oven with the power cable coming out, I thought the extra fans from the case would help circulation :confused:

;)

It's cooling now, whilst I have my pizza, beer, a schmoke and a pancake.

Well, I don't think it worked :(

I put it back in the PC and when the fan on the graphics card heatsink tried to spin up it wouldn't move seeing how the fins had all deformed and melted, the on screen display was still corrupted too.

I'm not dissuaded though! I'm confident that this fix will definitely work seeing as it's worked for loads of other people, so logically it has to work for me. I'm thinking that my card might be more like a soufflé though, which sometimes taste better when twice cooked. Hence I have begun to reheat the oven for round 2, this time the temps are increasing and so is the time the card will be in there.

Thank god my housemates aren't in otherwise they'd probably say this is one of the most idiotic things I've ever done and try and stop me! Ha! I'll show them when I've got a working graphics card to show for the rancid smell now permeating the kitchen and front room, and a little bit of upstairs too.
