Timing out on some sites, tried a few trace routes to various places but getting random timeouts here and there seems to be around the 3rd hop. Wondering if anyone else getting problems?

Yup having the same thing. There is a post in there forums seems like its a universal problem.

Yes thank god im not the only one. I can access here and other sites yet google and things like Vent, Steam (online) and Aoc won't load due to net connection. Be usually have it back up pronto so hopefully not too long a wait.

I can't get OpenDNS settings to stay put in the Speedtouch, they always get pushed down the list when it reboots. Otherwise I'd use it.

Not a dns problem. Its a routing problem apparently. Using opendns doesnt help. As for caged, they wont get pushed down if you correctly set the priority settings.

Yeh was going to say a DNS problem would surely mean no web access at all. Well anyway hopefully be back up soon.

Just out of interest how do you change the DNS settings on the Speedtouch. I just cant seem to find the option?

For some reason I thought I had to do it using telnet but I could be wrong.

Knackered on my Be connection and my mum's o2 connection. It isn't DNS related for us though - DNS is resolving absolutely fine, it just can't connect to most sites. The odd site such as bbc.co.uk is working fine though.

For some reason I thought I had to do it using telnet but I could be wrong.

"dns server route add dns=[Insert Primary DNS Server Address here] metric=1 intf=RoutedEthoA"

"metric=1" should result in the servers being used above the be* ones. Remember to flush the be* servers as well.

This wont help with the current problem though.

Yeah the problem I had was that the O2 DNS servers came back with a metric of 0 or something when I rebooted.

Edit:

Code:
DNS Server Entries:
DNS Server Source Metric Intf State Domain
D 87.194.0.51 0 O2_ADSL2plus UP *
D 87.194.0.52 0 O2_ADSL2plus UP *
D 87.194.0.66 0 O2_ADSL2plus UP *

well I thought it was knackered... been synced at 16mb awell... gutted as I've been stable for 9 days :( oh well grrrrrrrrrr gonna use dialup now to check my bank

Must be down to a routing issue then, DNS looks fine, lets hope they sort it soon!

This is my 3rd day on Be.

Connection has been excellent until now, I havnt even tweaked it yet, still using the standard bebox until my DG834GT turns up.
