Anybody else fedup with Steam

OK this is about the 6th time in the past 2 weeks that steam has gone offline for no reason at about 10:30 - 11:30.

It would be nice to have a game of DOTA or L4D2 before bed but I'm starting to loose count of the number of times I cant because there is no connection to steam.

This is happening WAY to much, every other night it seems to go down, I wouldn't mind so much if there was an announcement or something but we just get booted off without any warning or posting.

Anybody else seem to be having problems with steam?

I keep logging in and getting told it can't connect and I'll have to use offline mode. I'm not sure what has happened the last few weeks; maybe gabeN has forgotten to pay the bills or something.
 
As above really :D Got the nod from the GF for an hour on the PC and spent 40 mins of it killing time waiting for steam to come back up :(

This is worse, there isn't just some blatant issue with their servers if it isn't everyone, but some weird under the hood fault that'll take weeks to find.
 
I use it every night and have not experienced any downtime in weeks, even months..

Is their maybe a common denominator here? for those who loose connection what ISP are you using?

are all of you running normal steam or are you signed up to the beta?

It's not client-side in this case. There was actual downtime for at least a subset of users/locations.

That's what I believe anyhow... but just to help rule stuff out I'll say I'm on BT Infinity at home (also, I am not participating in the Steam beta).

I think it's more likely that a certain subset of servers went down for some users/regions/transit links.
