Turns out they're posting test packs to all teens in my area.

My mum's a strict Muslim, along with the parents of over 50% of students at my college.

Now she thinks I'm some sort of sex maniac who has an STD. She wont even speak to me ffs.

What is the point of posting it to people's homes other than to give uninformed parents a heart-attack? And where the **** did they get my full name and address from?

If I wanted an STD test I'd go to my doctor or find information myself using the internet. I don't want it shoved in my family's face.

Rant over.

Your mum sounds crazy. Why don't you just tell her its being sent to everyone not just you? End of issue?

The problem here is not the fact that you have recieved a STD test in the post. The problem would seem to be that your parent(s) don't trust what you tell them.
These test kits could help lots of people your age.

Isn't one of the main issues with chlamydia the complete lack of symptoms in the vast majority of carriers, therefore people don't actually bother getting tested for it but just spread it about...

It's a complete waste of money. Most people at my college haven't even had any sort of sex yet, and don't plan to have sex until after marriage. And I assume it's the same for other schools and colleges around the area.

Can you say naive? Unbelievable!

Everyone on this forum knows that isn't true :p

You're at college, so 16 at the minimum, and you assume most people in your area of a similar age haven't had sex?

It really isn't though is it, kids start having sex in their early teens these days.

It isn't the biggest waste of money ever, and it isn't exactly offensive, Chlamydia is a medical condition like any other, it just happens to be mainly caught from sex, unless of course your parents didn't have sex to create you I don;t see why it is that embarrassing, explain to your mum that it is for everyone.

I get chlamydia related post. Have done since I was 16.

My mum got the point that it was not really aimed at me. But an actual test pack?

I feel for your situation, Asim. That's pretty far.
