Anybody else having a hellish time with their NTL connection today?

having problems getting on all said sites above, there probably doing mega upgrades for the new speeds that will be coming out soon

had problems the last few days and tonight

Jumping around proxys seems to help

brig-cache-6.server.ntli.net seems the best for me down here

yeah, I'm having problems as well.

most notably with gamespot, BBC, hotmail, MSN etc etc. I'm guessing it might be something to do with the scheduled update to the speed increase

seriously, i decide on today of all days to reformat my pc, i cannot download any drivers (as i can't access google + some sites like creative for drivers) i have even re-formatted my parents pc twice (formatted earlier on to find no internet connection after re-installing with media centre edition) now i reformat with xp and my wireless desktop won't work as i have no drivers for it !!! then i see this thread!!!!!!1

Region: Surrey (Southeast):

P2P's such as LimeWire, BitLord/BitComet/Azerus seems to be working fine.
Some online gaming servers don't respond, notably EA-Sports and EA-Games. However other games such as Guild Wars and World of Warcraft work without any problems.

Websites which work:
Wikipedia
WoW-Europe.com
BBC

Websites which don't work:
Yahoo! (and Yahoo! Messenger)
MSN (and MSN Messenger) UPDATE: works fine now
Download.Cnet.com
Google (and its related websites such as Google Videos)
eBay UK
Gamespot
nVidia
Microsoft

[edit] My browser loads eBay.co.uk and Download.com but with a weird looking display. Seems some kind of error has occured.

:(

Btw, how can I get "lutn-cache-6.server.ntli.net" work? I'm quite dumb/newb in computer stuff.

how do you change proxie server?
Have you never heard of Google, or are you too bone idle to move your fingers?

Here is a link to some search results for you. I trust you aren't so bone idle to not do even a little research?

Have you thought that maybe, just maybe, he can't see Google? I can't see the search results you posted and didn't your opening post complain about *not* being able to access Google easily due to these very problems?

The problem is due to NTL's DNS servers which is why DNS hostnames such as the ones entered in browsers, don't work so well but P2P, email and games do. If you need access to Google, try an IP address instead, e.g. http://216.239.39.104

This means that you can access Basmic's generously donated search results like this:

http://216.239.39.104/search?num=100&hl=en&safe=off&q=how+change+proxy+"internet+explorer"&meta=
