I hate online gaming! I have no interest in doing and would rather enjoy an engrossing single player mode. Then there is the subscriptions you have to pay for some games the list goes on and on....

So anybody else out there who like me doesn't like online gaming?

PS - I would have created a poll but I don't have those options :(

i personally don't mind online or offline, if its single player only then fine, if the game has online and its engrossing enough for me to play then yeah i'll play it..

I cannot stand "mainstream" online gaming such as WoW or CoD. Furthermore, I game to have fun, and I do not have fun when playing against people who can't stop moaning and crying, so I limit a lot of RTS multiplayer etc to only against friends.

It's all about the right game, and having the right players to play with. Counter-strike for instance would be pointless if it was not multiplayer, and when you find a really good server with nice players, it can be a lot of fun.

I have no hate for it, unless the single player side suffers because they spent far too much time focussing on the multiplayer. I've never had the slightest interest in playing any CoD or BF games online, nor any other multiplayer competitive game - a few MMOs, but aside from that I'll leave the online community in peace.

In my experience, there are far, far too many dicks online.

^ I prefer single player because of the above.

I used to love online gaming because lots of my real-life friends used to play the same stuff and we'd have a good laugh. Since most of them have got married or had kids though, it's gone out the window. A few of them would really like to get back into it but "there's no way it'd get past the missus". Don't get that as my last gf used to play games online with me.

I still do a bit of LAN gaming with my cousin who stays now and then.

The one game I dislike playing online is dead island.

For some reason, I elected to play on my own and found it much more fun than having some prepubescent boy telling me what to do on their mic and whinging.

I don't really like competitive online games, prefer either co-op or games where you see others online but don't have to do anything... (Minecraft) :D

You're doing it wrong :)

Online gaming is all about the people you choose to play with, They determine if its good or bad.

The big problem I find is that even in games which are single player there are quite a number of aspects/features that are online only which I find highly irritating! This is why I love games like Fallout 3 & 4 which OK have a multiplayer aspect but there is a huge single player mode.

I thought I was in a minority but it would seem that there are plenty of people who are similar to me in their dislike of online gaming.

There are a few games I enjoy online, but as mentioned that's down to playing with my mates on the same team. If no-one is online I don't play online.

My first love is a well written, engrossing polished single player that you can lose yourself in.

Playing a game online is fine IMO, I just had the non-serious gamers on COD who just use a noob stick, takes no talent or skill

Didn't you used to play CS:S on Fragmasters, Stoner81? If you're the player I'm thinking of then my recollection is that you were a competent one.

Apart from CS:S I don't play any other mp apart from a the very occasional go on L4D / 2. If there was no CS:S then I'm not sure what I'd replace it with. Like the OP, I'm much more of a single player person, though I do like to play at least a little online on a regular basis.

In principle I do like online gaming, but the reality is that there are so many idiots that the experience is often underwhelming. For that reason, I now prefer a really good single player game these days. Online gaming used to be fun when fewer people had access to the internet. Sure, there were idiots back then too .. but the quantity was far less.

I don't like playing online solo FAR too many 12 year old idiots screaming and raging, team games with mates or Co-op MP with 3rd party VOIP only for me.

TBH I prefer SP generally.

I would rather multiplayer games did not waste time and money on **** linear SP campaigns and that singleplayer games did not waste time and money on **** buggy MP modes that are totally empty after 2 months.
