Anybody else out there who can't stand online gaming?

I dislike online gaming except in MMORPG's, that's the reason I've never quite taken to PS3/360 most of their games have a half arsed single player mode and rushed single player.

I like Battlefield and tried WOW in the past. I find that joining groups with your mates is just too much hassle when you are all adults and have jobs, girlfriends etc.
I never bother with the 'online mode' stuck onto a game that is mainly single player.

I love Battlefield but the average player really is a retard!

I favor multiplayer games over single player games. Get yourself a solid base of regular players or be part of a fun loving community (I don't think you need to look far for one of those ;) ) and it brings so much value to a game, far beyond what a game by itself can offer

Online gaming on the PC was great in the late 90s but since gaming has been comercialized (sp?) so much online play kinda sucks. I blame the youth of today ruining it for me.

Still I play BF3, CS:S, all kinds of things online, in fact single player bores me to death in most games.

The only PvP game I enjoy is Team Fortress 2. Then again, I usually play it on blue team Payload / Control points, I regard the red team as bots :)

I mostly play co-ops. Bring on Diablo III, Borderlands 2, and Guild Wars 2 :D

Tell you what when I started going to computer clubs to play Counter Strike I started really liking the experience, it was very social, a lot of laughter, it was far far better than sitting alone at home. The atmosphere, suddenly 40 odd people who never met before were best friends joking around, if you get hungry there's a food cooked before you of course alcohol available, it's like a night club for geeks xD. So I obviously enjoyed the experience very much.

Another "social" game was WoW. I was amazed at what 40man MC could be, so much organisation, so much teamwork, like a beautiful intricate dance hehe. PVP and PVE became so dynamic with so many epic just epic events. I can not stand single player games anymore, they're just not dynamic enough, too predictable and therefore repetitive and I know it may seem like raids is a grind but it never felt like that to me, for us it was always a struggle with unique and sometimes hilarious outcomes. Although recently I started enjoying few single player games like Space Marine and Metro 2033 single players, it's good fun but does not compare to multiplayer experiences.

I'm a big fan of MMO's, single player games just don't compete with playing in a persistant world with group PvE.

What I don't really play is competive online gaming ie RTS,FPS though I do enjoy playing the single player versions of such games.

I've devoted months of gameplay in various MMO's , can't imagine a single player that would keep my interest that long, also subs work out incredilbly cheap on a daily basis (most around 50p a day I think).

The only online game i have ever played is World Of Tanks.
i dont really like/dislike online games, its just that most of the games i like are single player

I used to play FPS for silly amounts of time online but everything about it these days irritates me, so i gave it up. It's just the occasional SP that i'll play now.

Back in the day it was easy and uncomplicated to just jump into a game of TDM in MOHAA and have a little fun. Now it's all Arcade style gaming with stupid gimmicks and butt-hurt kids who cry every time you put them down.

I hate online gaming! I have no interest in doing and would rather enjoy an engrossing single player mode. Then there is the subscriptions you have to pay for some games the list goes on and on....

So anybody else out there who like me doesn't like online gaming?

Stoner81.

PS - I would have created a poll but I don't have those options :(

Subscriptions are not a bad thing really...i play eve online a lot which costs me like £15 a month but thats a lot of hours per month i spend on it and if i bought a single player game would end up buying 2 - 3 with ammout of time playing them

I used to hate it but I've gotten into it a bit more. I only play games online that are built for it like BF3 though, I never play sports games or mainly single player games online. Funnily enough I enjoyed Crysis 2 single player far more than multi

I like both SP and MP. SP for story and atmosphere, MP for pwning noobs or to put it more politically correctly team-play and competitiveness :p
