Anybody else out there who can't stand online gaming?

Subscriptions are not a bad thing really...i play eve online a lot which costs me like £15 a month but thats a lot of hours per month i spend on it and if i bought a single player game would end up buying 2 - 3 with ammout of time playing them

Love EVE myself and you can actually play and never pay if you buy plex (gametime for ingame currency).

I HATE some of the idiots who play online games, but the actual games? HELL NO

Without online gaming we wouldn't have nearly as many games of the quality we have these days.

i love all types of games, some more than others.

Quite the opposite from the op, if it wasn't for mp in games I probably wouldn't game that much at all, as I don't tend to finish the single-player part in multi-player games.

I like testing myself against other players rather than the same old tired AI.

My advice is try it you might like it whether it be competive gaming or MMO's, you don't have to listen to the smack talk you know :D

Thats like saying I've seen my mate drive a car so I know what its like to drive that car....

Driving a car and playing games online are two vastly different things so I can't see how they can be compared in the way you describe. You have your opinion and I have mine ;)

Stoner81.

Burnout Revenge was the best online game i played. Used to have some good races here with members. Apart from that i prefer single play, ask my boy the same thing and it would be 100% online, me personally think it's a age thing, slower reaction's and to much stress being killed for the 50th time at my age, lol

Can't really stay interested in sp gaming anymore tbh. Play league of legends solely now, I had a disaster on my Internet a few weeks ago where the internet was down for 2 weeks and during that time I had no inclination to play any other games at all, pc stayed off during the whole period.

Worthless opinion is worthless. Considering you don't actually have any experience of it, knowing or watching people who play online does not count.

I've spent thousands of hours playing online games such as Enemy Territory, Left4Dead, Battlezone to name a few. The buzz I could get from those games was something else. I don't spend as much time playing online games as I used to which I put down to uninspiring games being produced for the console generation and the way the PC for the most part has to just follow this model.

It's the single player experience that leaves me cold these days, especially the unlocking of the achievement for doing absolutley nothing at the start of the game. It's pretty rare that I will actually finish a SP game.

Has to be online for FPS's, Its knowing that the 14 yr old keyboard warrior you just killed for the 10th time in a row is at home squealing like a little piggy, priceless imo

I am also struggling to work out how you can base an opinion like this on watching people play online games. You are entitled to your own opinions, but as you have not tried it first hand, I fail to this any point in posting this thread. Now if you had played some online games in the past like some of those posting in here and decided it was not for you and had some good reasoning behind it then it would be fair enough.

Also you posted this ill-informed thread in a PC Gaming section. As said, with actual experience behind you that wouldn't matter but as it stands, pointless. :(

This is so true, if you can hear them over the voice comms it's very amusing.

Do hate how your constantly reminded that 70+% of the world population (or atleast those that play games online) are <insert explicit> cocks. If it wasn't for the fact I'm somewhat good at COD I wouldn't play it the amount of cheating and smack talking/outright abusiveness is ridiculous... fortunatly I'm good enough to go 2+:1 score ratio on most of them (aside from people full on instant snap aimbotting) which shuts up the smacktalk pretty fast generally.

Yeah strangely enough thats killing my single player experience to - "unlocking" "achievements" simply for participating.

Very few games do i actually like to play online.
Give me a great story driven single player any day.
Yep.

Besides, it's too stressful from experience - you need to have all your peripherals and machine set up right, whereas single player you can just sit back and chillax. ;)

I used to enjoy online gaming, but found that it's just a repetitious inguldent waste of time, with the one skill benefit of honing your reflexes (at the expense of everything else).

Give me a memorable singleplayer experience anyday.

I love online games, but to be honest I hate the majority of people that play them. I only play online games with my mates and rarely venture outside of my core group. WoW has destroyed my opinion of other gamers and now I much prefer games like The Witcher and Skyrim ect.

No, I can stand it..Its just some people, they ruin it for people like us.
So I don't really want to play games like CSS or CODMP anymore cos of that reason and my freinds are just the same.

I personally like the CO OP games these days. Or Single player RPGs.

my pennys worth :)
