Mostly do. Except when i'm going onto a second text by just a few letters. Then I go through it and see where 'you' can be replaced with 'u'though can't bring myself to do it with 'are'.

Character limit? What's wrong with sending multiple-page sms?
Just a bit annoying if you're on payg or with a small limit and the text goes to under 15 characters over.
Why pay an extra 10p for a word or two?
When I'm 'texting' I can't bring myself to shorten a word because I feel that somebody will have a go at me so therefore I take ages to text.
My wife (who is 50) has really got the hang of it -
"Ope u av ad yr t. We av ad a gud day got put in 1st clas goin. Jst sitin in pub avin sumfin 2 eat. C u l8r"
Aaaaaaargh
Anybody else who has to write the whole thing out?
however to fit messages into one text I often have words saved to the dictionary for convenience, it's definitely worth it. ppl - people, defo - definitely, tbh - to be honest.
I refuse point blank to text anybody. If they wish to speak to me they can call me. If I don't want people calling me, I switch it off. I hate mobile phones! If I could throw it in the bin I would.Anybody else who has to write the whole thing out?
