Anybody on the boards not into gaming at all?

To be fair I don't think there are many non-poor people under the age of 35 who NEVER play video games irrespective of whether they use this forum or not! I know people who don't own consoles or PC games but they will still have an occasional game in an arcade, or on a mobile phone, or at a friend's house etc.

I guess there is a line in terms of people who are 'into' gaming (play it most days if they have time) though as opposed to occasional gamers who go weeks without playing anything.

I've said it before but the social stigma attached to gaming (and online activities) has changed drastically over the past 15 years or so. Even 10 years ago the idea of opening talking about gaming in the office was a bit of a grey area, it tended to be done more privately by likeminded individuals.

Gaming for me still generally works out much cheaper than a lot of other more "productive" hobbies..

there is still the social stigma though tbh. (unless its some game on facebook or on iphone then its the IN thing)

I used to be into games hardcore but over the past 3 years or so my interest has declined dramatically. However I'm trying to get back into it, Forza 4, BF3 and MW3 should spice things up a bit. A bit lame to say but I have a lot of free time now that I'm not with my girlfriend anymore so I think a bit of gaming time is deserved! Haha.

I honestly don't see anything wrong with playing games for a few hours, who honestly cares what anyone does in their own home with their free time? All of my friends play computer games and it's not a big deal. I find gaming to be a great way to relieve stress and chill out on my own. It is not wasted time if you're having fun is it? It's a form of entertainment, just like watching TV, reading a book or doing whatever else. Sure it might not gain you any valuable skills but so what it's meant to be fun and entertaining and that's what it achieves!

It's odd how much of an effort is required to read a book these days, like I'm not aware I'll need a day to play a game or browse a few forums, but a book always seems like a big time sink that I have to commit to.
Which is odd because I was always reading stuff years ago.

Gaming I haven't done since I misplaced my GTA4 disc, I think if I was more organised I'd be able to say I'll spend time doing DIY then I'll have a guilt free gaming day, but it just never happens.

I occasionally do the Grauniad online crosswords - does that count ;)

I don't play first person shooters, RPGs, etc. I have never been able to understand the fascination with them but "Different strokes for different folks" :)

Not in to computers or games any more really. Occasionally I'll pick up a PS3 game and get really in to it, play it in to the ground for a few days, then go back to not using it for months.

Free time now tends to be spent reading, playing guitar or going to the pub. The room I moved in to a while back has a huge collection of books on the shelves from previous occupiers, so I've got a very eclectic selection to work through.

i dont play games at all

i briefly owned an Xbox 360 in 2008, but i sold it after 4 months because i had no interest in playing it

the last game i played to full completion was the godfather on PS2

when i had the xbox, i would force myself to play it, but as soon as my character was killed or i crashed the car i was driving i'd turn it off and go and do something else.
