Ah, but books are different. Books have the power to change the way you think; give you a completely different perspective on life. Very few games, films, media, etc can do this. I'm not sure why but that is the case. Probably because most forms of media aim to entertain rather than educate.
(Examples include the Bible, War and Peace, 1984, etc)
Unless you think developing your mind is fundamentally "useless" in which case I'd call you a closet nihilist.
I hate it when people say playing games is a waste of time. It's a hobby, and you partake in a hobby to have fun. If people have fun playing games then they haven't wasted hours of their lives.
While it is a hobby, I would say it is not an overly constructive one compared to playing an instrument or sport.
I'm sure if you total up how long you go for a dump every day, it'll be a lot more of your life wasted than playing a game.
Lol @ the comparison with stamp collecting. Stamp collecting's generally ridiculed, so being better than it is hardly a ringing endorsement!
I only play a bit of Fifa, but don't own a Playstation. I don't even know anyone with a console, here!
after wasting my early teens racking up 500 days playtime on runescape its safe to say ive not played a game since
