Anyone able to explain this?

All of this could have prevented when he claimed to be 14 to the border officials.

One person just needed to speak up and say, you wot m8, theres no way on earth your 14, then get a medical examination to veryify their age, I bet you the mere mention of that alone they would have sent em right back home.

He was found guilty of two counts of murder as well as a related firearm offence in 2020 following a trial in his absence, having already fled Serbia.
He had been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the offences, which took place between July 31 and August 1, 2018.

Abdulrahimzai fled his home country of Afghanistan after he says his parents were killed by the Taliban and he was tortured by them. He arrived in the UK in December 2019.
So he was only found guilty of murder in 2020 ? or the firearms offence was just in 2020 ? but the crimes were in 2018 before he sneaked his way over here

Was he actually from Afghanistan or did he make that story up like his age ?

Just a flawed system I guess. Should not have been able to leave Serbia - Serbia should have recorded this into a database which other countries can check upon his arrival - we should have checked a database upon his arrival, seen he's wanted, job done. Presumably several parts of such a system don't even happen.

There's no one willing to speak up, because they all think alike and don't want to stand out from the crowd and then also be cancelled because your fellow colleagues don't like people like you who speak out. Then of course, it's against their "Human Rights" to do a test on them when their word can be taken at face value.

Without major changes, this will just keep on happening unfortunately.

If only the Government had better funded the police, there'd be less rapists and racists in the Police?

Honestly, you can twist literally any story to fit your narrative.

According to reports, police were warned seven times that Abdulrahimzai had been carrying a knife before he went on to stab Roberts.

The Home Office said it will investigate the “red flags missed” and look at the full circumstances surrounding the case.

Flawed is an understatement. There seem to have been multiple chances to stop this happening and have this guy dumped in the sea.

When did they suspect his involvement with the Serbian murders? I can't glean if he was already over here prior to there being knowledge worth sharing.

Careful @Begbie, better not commit wrongthink!

Yeah not an amazing incident really. Unfortunately I'm sure something that will be partially brushed off as "part and parcel of living in an xyz".

how the **** was this guy still free to roam about in our country?!
This would appear to be a case of out police and border control not doing their job.
They knew he was here, they knew he had been threatening.
This isn;t so much about the fact he was from another nation, but more to do with our local services managing zero intervention.
I think the fault lies with the police of the area and the home secretary who tells us she's all over this stuff, and she's keeping us safe, when it appears she isn't and doesn't know **** all.
