Anyone been to The Fat Duck?

The Michelin guys would disagree.
dunno.gif

Could always check out the Waterside Inn just down the road if you want more conventional dishes.

The michelin guys probably have no taste :p

Anyhow I live in Holyport just round the corner and much prefer the Belgian Arms or the sun & stars over the fat ****! :p

edit I know I can't spell i never have been too good with wrods

Heston ******* Blumenthal don't get me started he Doesn't cook he murders good food, he's so damn full of himself cos he applys chemistary to cooking, He fired my friend and he didn't give me my moneysworth.

Ha-Ha you might want to take a step back and cool down. How does he murder good food? He's rated one of the best in the world. Yes some of his dishes are unconventional. But a lot are based on traditional recipes just taken to absolute perfection.

Is Waterside another of his restaurants?

So how has he won so many awards, be so rated on a global stage not just uk and have so many Michelin stars. You would be more convincing if you didn't post like a raving loony with a personal grudge.

Look to put it bluntly I don't know what sort of muppets were judging him but they must've been out o their minds when tasting the food because honestly most people I know who've been to either "The Fat Duck" or the other restraunt he owns in bray "The Hinds Head" has the exact same opinion of the food it's not good! Most of it is completely tastless.

How odd.....DO you want the man dead or something? Does he owe you £50? What is it? Lets get to the real nature of this character assassination...

I've heard that inbreeding causes defects such as extra digits, respiratory problems and both anosmia and malfunctioning tastebuds...

When I was at Cisco, my team won a 'tasting' meal at The Fat Duck (just after it had been named 'best in the world') and we had a great time.

Whilst not everything was to my personal taste (I can be quite fussy sometimes...), everything was impeccable in it's attention to detail, depth and breadth of flavour, and the entire experience was spot-on.

I didn't know who this guy was and, being a fan of Gordon Ramsay, I just watched two episodes on the BBC iPlayer website, to compare. The episodes 'Risotto' and 'Trifle'.

I love how the process is all very clinical. Whoever said he has no passion is clearly blind and deaf. The guy is full of passion, but that doesn't mean he has to run about with a temper, shouting and swearing at people.

It's very different to Gordon Ramsay's approach, but I enjoy watching and learning about it just as much, thus far. The precision, cleanliness and research put into every single layer of every dish is absolutely amazing.

As for Capn' $qu!ff, he clearly doesn't know the very meaning of 'being able' to cook. Maybe he should set up a Michellin starred restaurant, get a TV show going and prove his point before he starts ranting and raving about people who are obviously getting credit for being good.

Or buy an Ainsley Harriot cookbook.

Not yet been to the Fat Duck but plan to soon. Can thoroughly recommend the Waterside Inn down the road though. Superb food and on an equal footing.

yes, i have been. its expensive but brilliant.

i have also been to Ramsays flagship on royal hospital road.

they are both amazing although if you order semi decent wine expect to pay £150 - £200 per head.

the cheapest wine in ramsays is £30 a bottle.

His perfect Christmas dinner is on at 8pm tonight on bbc2 followed by die hard 1/2 on itv2. two nights in a row with decent programs on.
