but why!

Its not like the enthusiast market is going to make or break AMD
I see it this way.
If everyone buys Intel, AMD will go bust. Then Intel can charge what they like & the era of £2k entry level PC's will come back, like it was when I bought my 1st PC (486SX 33) back in late 1993. Not keen on seeing those days coming back somehow.![]()
im wondering that too when intel is cheaper and faster clock for clock.
guess someone has to buy them.![]()
Sorry but that is just misguided loyalty. You buy the best components you can afford at the time regardless of manufacturer. At this time and for the foreseeable future that is Intel. It's not as if AMD will show you any loyalty back. AMD's main money is from the server market, not the enthusiast market.
thats not true and you know it. the price on overclockers and a few other main stream sites is 26% higher than the standard retail price for these chips. at their proper price they are 13.6% cheaper and 13.5% slower clock for clock than their equivalent Intel's.
Well it is true as going my overclockers prices he phenom is more expensive than the Q6600.
Standard retail price means nothing if you can't get it for that price.
im interested in this too, could someone compile a list of people who bought phenom systems? im running out of people to take the micky out of.
the guys who bought the 2900xt now have sold it so its been a booring month.

is in a way, enthusiasts tell friends and family to stay away from AMD as performance is naff, they buy intel & the circle goes on by them telling others
