I updated the bios on my 260 over the weekend and at first it seemed fixed but today the problem returned and switched of the monitor on Vista start up.
In the display settings it still thinks I have 2 monitors, going to have to send this junk back, not got the time or patience anymore.:(

This is really not a lot of help!
All it says is what we have been saying, not a fix or a link to a working bios!
Come on gigabyte, sort it out guys!

this fix from giga might well work for most
but its a little too late for some.... even what bios to go for can be miss leading they could also help us by listing what monitors it dont work with i for one have a samung 226bw and a t260hd that i have very bad issues with...
and the sammy 226bw is a very popular monitor ...
vga is 100% fine .. but not really what i want ... and to use out of date drivers is no my idea of next gen ,,

I know that I am a BFG fanboy at the best of times, but for a GIgabyte employee to come on the forums and say "we knew the cards were dodgy, sorry for the frustration", is almost unbelievable.

It certainly wouldn't encourage me to buy anything Gigabyte, especially considering that some of their X58 boards don't work with Seasonic PSUs.

Anyone noticing a pattern emerging here?

I am thinking along the same lines. I had problems with the two Gigabyte products I purchased in the past; one S939 board and one S754 board. Obviously this was many years ago, so when my XFX 8800GTX finally died last month, and I saw the Gigabyte GTX275 on special at OcUK I decided to take a chance - I figured that Gigabyte must have sorted out their quality control issues if they're still in business after all this time. My heart sank when this thread appeared the day after I placed the order for the card, but I held out hope that I might get lucky and be unaffected. Sadly, the card was a dud and had to be sent back. I am now resolved to never touch another Gigabyte product, they may be cheap but it's not worth the hassle of dealing with poor quality products. I now have a BFG GTX275 and it's working perfectly, and with the fantastic warranty provided I have piece of mind for the future.

@ GigaMan

I'm running a pair of the GV-N275UD-896I cards, there's two versions of the BIOS listed, which version do I go for?

It looks like they are split by memory type, Samsung or HYNIX. How do I tell?

Kind Regards,

Mike

WOW guys… Okay!
Firstly, I never said that our cards are dodgy, so please do not twist my words.

Of course we want to help resolve this issue!

The BIOS update fixes certain monitor compatibility issues which we released on the 19 Aug (5 days ago).
This issue was put to our attention around 9 Aug, so we are really trying to solve this issue.

We will look at each of these issues directly, no problem.
We have engineers based locally (UK) with the equipment to test and possibly even fix them.

I would like to suggest if you could please go to the below link…
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/ServiceCenter.aspx
This will link you to our GIGABYTE Technical Service Zone, which will then send us (UK) the query.

If you are experiencing this display issue and have purchased your card from OcUK, then please contact us.
We will deal directly with you and resolve this.

We have not yet managed to duplicate this issue locally, but this could be related to different hardware being use.

Thank you and once again, I am sorry for the frustration caused.

Just out of interest the software wont allow you to update the wrong bios, be it hynix or samsung. It will just state wrong bios, mine was the samsung bios.

It now works fine on both vista 64 and vista 7 and with the latest 190.62 (from the top of my head) from nvidia.

I wonder how many people here are actually rmaing their cards in anticipation of the new ati cards coming out, but that would be cynical..............................

I've only had my card for 12 days and this morning sure enough I turn on my PC, go make a coffee then come back to find my PC on but my Samsung Sync Master 2333 in standby mode.
That's not cynical that's a pain in the ass so you comment as far as I'm concerned is not welcome.

Sawyer I was only joking I'm confident everyone returns items for honest purposes only :) your using a 260 this is about the 275, havnt GB released a bios for the 260 to fix your problem?

ordered one of these along with a crucial m225 ssd the other day
the order didn't ship, and the graphics card has been pulled from the website completely.
contacted oc, and they offered to swap it for an equivalent card.
so now i'm getting a bfg 275 oc for the same price instead, really feel like i've dodged a bullet here, thanks OC!

loss of a small percentage of performance - irrelevant
gain of peace of mind and reliability - priceless.

and if i really feel the need, the bfg seems to be very good to overclock anyway.

Where did he say that?

If anything him signing up to the forum giving a potential solution to the problem only shows Gigabyte in a better light. Dealing with Gigabyte every day through my job, I can say they have some of the best RMA support going.

Have just bought a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 260 and have loads of problems via DVI.Will not display anything on initial boot.Screen is a new Samsung T220.Leave it for 2 minutes for boot to complete and I finally get a display in windows but its too big for the screen despite the resolution being 1680x1050 (native resolution).Tried to update the BIOS but get the same problem.Works ok when I connect to the DVI port with a VGA-DVI converter and use a VGA cable.

Got a video of the problem if anyone wants a look.

Yeah thats pretty much the same issues as with the 275, sounds like RMA time m8. Interestingly ocuk don't seem to have pulled the 260 from the shop like the 275 but reading other forums it does seem to suffer the same issues.
