I had a few different ones! Gold was the most sought after of course. Playing pogs with just slammers in the stack was something to behold. Whoever won that match was the daddy of the playground.

This thread is now a Pogs thread.

Is this just some stupidly expensive version of top trumps combined with Uno?

I don't understand the attraction at all. Do you get the cards out and look at them occasionally? What do people do with their collections - do they smell them? Do they rub them all over their bodies? I just don't get it.

you duel, collect cards to build decks or sell on

and no to your first point

Do these cards become collectible?

Things like baseball cards from the 50s seem the norm, would anyone actually care if you had a load of these? :o

(an actual question, not a hate post :p )

There is a decent market for rare cards in most trading card games, and things like first editions or limited edition cards go for a lot I think.

Most cards are too common to be worth anything though. Your extensive, well kept Pokemon set is probably close to worthless.

I had them all in folders and spent a lot at the time, it is all boxed in the loft to the point of I have no clue what is up there.
