My mate had the same dog that Tarot is based on -

I still like to kill a spare 5 mins playing joey the passion now and again lol
We looked pretty sad sat in my flat dueling and boozing!
lol spent £££££ playing yugioh online then they came out with yugioh online 2 which was dire and made me feel like a pedo as it looked so childish ( I know I know) so I left it alone still with credit on my account....went back for a go a few months later and the decks had changed so much that it was pointless playing as I was outdated.....ack well it doesn't exist anymore.
Winning at life moar liek
Haha, seriously though i'd never played it, a group of us decided why not do a marathon of watching the show from the start and build a deck each see how hard it was to pick up.
I was surprised on just how much skill goes into the game to learn how to build a deck with cards that compliment each other and the strategy involved.
We found a local place that played and saw the kind of people there, we soon stopped playing.
Still have my Blue Eyes deck sat around.
It's a shame that the game has that kind of vibe. Like all card based strategy games. Well actually like all games like Warhammer, D&D and all the rest of them really. I'm sure we can all appreciate the appeal of going to a local place and meeting like-minded people and not being judged for it though.
If it's fun, then it's fun and if you don't enjoy it then it's not for you. It should be as simple as that. Sadly, judging the people who play these games is the root cause of their social anxieties to begin with.
Yu-Gi-Oh is like any well made game of strategy really. And complex enough to keep it interesting and fun to play. And no doubt would appeal to a high percentage of gamers if they could get beyond the stigma. In fact, it's hard to believe that gamers don't share a level of appreciation since they suffered from the same sorts stigma before it went mainstream.
You have to take my comment more tongue in cheek when i said we saw the people and stopped playing. It was more i didnt fancy actually sitting in some shops damp basement to play with children (sounds like a whole new game altogether) and the locals were not exactly forthcoming to newcomers, its a little hard to learn and play a new game with people who don't speak or rage on your mistakes.
Although stating that everyone who plays the game has social anxiety is putting a stigma on them yourself. I met one bloke who did join us to the pub for a **** up and some cards.
Im not so fussed about the Stigma, that didn't stop me playing. Having no one sociable to play with did. Only so many times you can play with the same 4 people before you know exactly what moves they will make!
Fair enough! Sorry I wasn't really targeting you with my comments I was speaking more generally (I appreciate that wasn't clear).
I can appreciate that not having many people to play it with isn't exactly going to encourage you to play. most of the reason why mine mostly sits in a box these days. Taught the missus once and that was just a terrible idea(she doesn't like playing games with the possibility of her losing)!
Yea the online can be fun but its not as satisfying as using the cards. I must say i was surprised how steep the learning curve was for the game. Especially learning what can be chained to what! Not for the feint hearted.
Been months im not sure id know what to do. Besides im moving so i think i'll be donating my Blue eyes deck to someone who'll play. Surprising how much it costs to build a full deck!
Haha so like any other lady then?![]()
I also 'get' that it's socially unacceptable to collect trading cards, and I don't go to duels or anything, I just collect them on occasion.
I hate society, it's not 'cool' to collect real life cards anymore,
Was it ever 'cool' to collect them?
This is an embarrassment. Just grow up..
