Anyone driven...

I actually have because my Gran has owned 3 of them.

The Matiz is, of course, utterly, utterly dire. But it at least has perhaps 1 or 2 redeeming features. It's very, very small.

What redeeming features has a Rio got? Its not even that cheap.

the only thing ive ever driven that was worse than the Kia

i actually learned to drive in one of these :(

on the flip side, how my eyes were openned when i got a license and started driving other cars. A whole new world openned !

Peugeot Citroen, Europe's second-biggest carmaker, is recalling some cars made with Toyota in Europe.

"For Peugeot 107s and Citroen C1s, we are going to carry out an identical campaign as Toyota," a spokesman said.

The Japanese car giant has now recalled millions of cars worldwide with faulty pedals.

Both models are made in a Czech plant, a joint venture with Toyota that assembles around 200,000 Peugeot and Citroen cars every year.

Any of these?

Kia Rio
Nissan Pixo
Toyota Aygo

Kia make two decent cars - the Ce'e'e'e'e'e'e'eeeed and the Soul. The Rio is neither of these cars, and is best described as "******* ****". This being a family-friendly forum I can't really say any more.

The Aygo is a great little car, but damned near identical to the 107 and C1 so if you can get a better deal out of a Pug or Citroen garage then they'd be contenders. The Pixo is a Suzuki, and not horrendous either.

Having had a good look around been driven in my friend's new i10 1.2 I'll have to say that it's far nicer inside, far quieter and better built than the previous Toyota Aygo I've been in

This would therefore be my first choice

Kia don't make decent cars, they make cheap unreliable tat, than charge as much as their rivals in order to pay for the warranty claims. Just look at the Sportage fiasco with the large alloys...

The 7 year warranty says nothing about the ce'ed, you pay for the warranty.

Always hit my left knee getting into pandas, the bulge on the center console is ******* annoying.

I am 6"3 might not help.

I find the 500's are chuckable and a bit more room inside.

Matiz, i10, peradua, alto. All horrible little things.

If you do get the Panda it will likely be the active-eco; ask the dealer to fit a cigarette lighter socket at PDI. It's one of the things they took out to save weight and get it into the £35 tax band, it can be annoying if you want a sat-nav.

I'd be looking at the Fiat panda and 500. This is clearly a form over function purchase, so the panda fits the bill in the cheapest guise nicely.

I've driven a toyota aygo.. but it was a driving instructors car (on a driver alertness course)

The instructor himself gave the car a brilliant review.. in terms of reliability, it had recently clocked over 250000 miles and he claimed it had never broken down. Being an instructors car i imagine it was serviced by Toyota on time, every time, and it had probably never broken the 70mph barrier, but still.. pretty good going. This was the 1.4 diesel variant (iirc)

Driving it was easy.. no real drama or issues - obviously quite a bit of road noise but that's not really an issue for what you'd use an aygo for - it's not a motorway cruiser!

Fiat Panda and save yourself £1k?

Gotta be this if anything.

All of these care are utterly utterly dire though, i was half tempted to simply post that perhaps if this is the budget then new cars are not really something that should be considered.

The Pixo and Alto are "OK". My Gran bought a new Pixo recently and has complained that the boot is too small to have any real use.

Most Korean cars are horrific, but I can see how they would appeal as a white good. The Hyundai i10 is supposed to be OK, but as above, my money would be on a Panda if forced.

a woman i work with just had a put a new clutch on her peuget 107 (an aygo). her car has only done 30k miles

according to t'web its not uncommong for the clutches to die in that timespan
