Anyone else bored of current FPS games?

Well i've got numerous FPS games but nothing seems to keep me addicted.
Gameplay seems to have gone out of the window and the last game i can say i played seriously was Soldier Of Fortune 2.

SOF3 come out and as usual PC gamers were forgotten and it was a complete joke. Does anybody know if there is anything coming out FPS wise that might be worth looking at?

Im getting into driving games because of the lack of decent FPS games at the moment as i just cant find anything that really grips me like SOF2 did i played that game for over 3 years and it never got boring.

Whats left to play thats worth playing and its the online MP im interesting in i dont play SP.

Yeah BC2 is ok but your right its frustrating normal servers seem like you need a clip from an assault to kill someone and HC everyones sniping or using LMG's so the team aspect is gone. BF2142 was awesome seemed there was always a mix of classes to even out and play as a Team.
 
even multiplayer fps dont really seem to have improved much gameplay wise, i'd happily buy the original battlefield game with an updated graphics engine and sound engine, still one of the best mp games around.

auto lock on missiles etc killed the bf series world war 2 needed skill
 
It might be that you missed it from your list but TF2 is always good and one of the best team play based FPS around.
Split my time between some BF BC2 and TF2 these days
 
BC2 still has me addicted, sure the Gustav/40mm spam is incredibly annoying, lame and boring but love playing with friends.

Rush mode is a bit poo though, 2/3 static routes of attack per point, no dynamic attack/defend situations like you get in Conquest. Panama Canal is definitely the best map, closely followed by Atacama Desert. If there were some 'balancing' on CG/40mm Arica Harbour Conquest would be epic.
 
Yeah i played TF2 but didnt think much of it but maybe i didnt give it a chance, i'll download it again and have a bit more of a look at it.

And if they could balance BF:BC2 it would be epic but it seems everyone is out for themselves in it at the moment with very little team play, i hate it when im in need of ammo,medic or repairs and those classes run past. When i play a medic i concentrate on reviving and healing people and quickly rise to the top of my team points wise, my KD ratio sucks but judging by the score im doing things correctly. Just wish more people would play it as a team game and they balance the damage a bit.
 
I dont think you have played a 'true' battlefield game :P

Play either or both Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2 they are vastly different from bc2, and well 2142 wasn't so hot.
The complete packs can be picked up for like £10 including all expansions and addons.


Good call for tf2, although hugely better playing with friends and doing something like heavy+medic combo, great fun.

Depending if you like extra realism there is a mod for ARMA2 called ACE, haven't played it myself but once i got my new graphics card i will be all other that shiz. :)

Quake live is also good for a free browser base game.

BF: Heroes
BF:BC (Xbox)
BF:BC2

Maybe its because i used to play in clans and the teamwork was a necessity. Well i hope someone does do a good FPS concentrating on gameplay in the future.
 
gonna try arma a bit more when i get my new graphics too, will definitely try the ace mod you guys are recommending.
 
There's still a lot to be had with say COD4 and COD5 servers running mods. Some folk are anti-mod as it can remove any custom classes/clan tags etc if you install them and many aren't ranked but there are some corkers out there :)

I'm not bored of current FPS games, there are some that do bore me but I've been playing ArmA 2 now since its release, and ArmA 1 before than and OFP before that.

Alongside that I also play BC2 which is a new edition and have a long list of FPS games that I've enjoyed on my steam account. I understand what you mean but for me playing with my friends has made me enjoy these games much more, perhaps you should just try other types of games or perhaps try other hobbies if your getting bored of this. :)
