Anyone else collect Die Cast?

You would be shocked at how much that would go for on ebay these days (we're talking potentially £100+ if its boxed and in good condition). UT Models don't seem to be around anymore and their Ford models are highly sought after by collectors, especially the Escort Cosworth or WRC models!

Just dug it out and although its in very good condition its obviously spent a few years in the sun and the windows have gone almost opaque :(

Not quite as many as rpstewart - but I've got a few.
All Lotus or related. mavity racers, F1 cars, GT cars, road cars, Le Mans cars, Indy Cars, motorhomes and transporters. Mainly 1/43 and 1/18 - but with a smattering of 1/64, 1/12, 1/20 and others.
Also have the Studio27 Japan and Tamiya kits.

I believe the only Lotus models I don't have are the Amalgem 1/8th 79 and 97T which are utterly stunning - but at around £3000 each, unless I win the lottery they are just on the wishlist.

I do see 6 orange test cars in there? who were they?
The left hand pair are the Hakkinen/Coulthard MP4-12 ('97) winter test cars - McLaren went back to the traditional papaya to let them run in the switchover from Marlboro to West sponsorship. The other 4 are a pair of MP4-20s (Paffett & de la Rosa) and a pair of MP4-21s (Raikkonen & Montoya) all from the 2006 winter tests.

Have a few from when I was younger - used to buy one with my birthday money or similar :)

Maisto and Bburago mainly - the usual exotica and a few oddities (Ringtons tea van!!!!) I was given by relatives.

Ah, I didnt realise they ran in orange back in 97 for testing too.

I used to have a huge collection of mainly 80's Hot hatches etc, unfortunately, after a break up, I lost the lot.

Slowly (very!) I'm starting again, but, not got too far.....
