Anyone else disappointed with the Bioshock demo?

Athlon 64 3500+
2GB of Corsair extreme
6800GT
Xmystique sound card
running a Dell 2405 at 1900x1200

I turned all the details off in the game and it ran fine, it was playable just not very pretty.

If you ran through it in 5 minutes then thats your problem. Shocked that anyone can think its avg.

your not just shocked , your all Bioshocked :D

demo i found was ok.ran with no probs but if i got the game i will get bored of it very easy.and with no multiplay i cant find a reason why i would spend money on it.at least i think its only a single player game?.

Im normally quite hard to please with pc games. Nothing really impresses me....

Then i played this demo and its the most stunningly designed game ive ever seen. Its like a work of art. The environments are just amazing. The sound and attention to detail set this way above any game ive played in years.

Ive played Gears of War through and that was a blast.. but even this outshines gears , and thats just my impression from a demo.

Beautiful, dark, stylish. Top drawer.

I have to admit I am not that impressed at all...so much hype for a game that is very average.

I played the game with everything up and I was not that enamored with the game at all. Average gameplay, graphics etc etc..it may get better who knows, I won't because I won't be buying it.

Cannot agree more with this man here. I dont get what is so great about it. Gameplay was very average, but the graphics were nice i can give it that. I dont see what it brings to the table, all the scenes were very scripted and half the time was spent on cut-scenes.

i did feel like it was over hyped until the end, the video shows loads more than is actually playable in the demo. for me it ran a lot better than the 360 and was maxed out which visually put it even further ahead. to top it all i got it for £25 which is nearly half the price of the 360 version.
still each to their own.......

Well I need the hotfix to play it and then that hotfix screwed my PC up bigtime, even now after system restore it's behaving strangely. Guess I'm just gonna have to wait till next drivers. So yeah I'm pretty disappointed at not being able to play the demo :p

Just played the demo and really enjoyed it :D I thought it was fantastic,I really got into it (with sound whacked up loud) and was quite disapointed when the demo ended ! But I will definatly be buying it :)

Equally worried myself. I have already paid for and preloaded Bioshock, and the demo not working at all is ringing alarm bells.

OMG - I knew as I fired up the forums tonight that I would hit this thread. Not that I am surprised - the same occured when HL2 was released.

Don't get me wrong - everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I accept that not every game will be to everyones liking, no matter how good it is.

But when you don't like HL2 and don't like a game like Bioshock (which will be ace); two games at the top of their 'game', then really, you are playing with the wrong genre. If you do not like these then you or probably not going to like anything of similar ilk on offer.

Go play an RTS.... and don't start going on about how Company of Heroes disappointed you or you will force me to tut loudly. ;)

the fact that this game doesnt have multiplayer is already enough to make me NOT buy it, regardless of single player, it can only go so far...
