Hello,
Usually, when pulling onto a 30 limit road, does anyone else accelerate from 1st then 2nd gear to 30Mph, then put it straight in to 4th or 5th?

I do this all the time, because im always pulling out in traffic so need to get to 30 quite fast, then just go straight to 4th or 5th depending on the road.

Ive never seen anyone else do this, it really annoys me when people put it into a gear and only accerate in it for a single second or so

If I accelerate quickly and go quite far up the rev range in second, I'll usually stick it straight into fourth as it's pretty pointless shifting up to third only to change straight away.

Only when pulling out in traffic (Where it's safe to do so!)

Normally just a leisurely drive up to 30 through all the gears.

I VTEC up to 30 in 1st then pop it in 4th usually.

I try and go through the gears normally but if I, for example, overtake a cyclist and find myself doing 30 in second then I'll skip third.

I used to skip in the 306, but I caught myself pointlessly plonking it into 3rd the other day only to change straight to 4th/5th. Needless to say I beat myself soundly upon arrival at my destination (Waitrose. They weren't very happy about it either).

Yeah il stick it straight into 4th from second aswell, if ive had to pull off quickly.

This is what I would do, I prefer the smooth ride

It doesnt have to be a rough ride changing from 2nd to 4th

I do it but I change to third and instantly to 4th.. depending on the traffic situation...

bloody hell, what car do you drive with an engine so small it can't smoothly go from 2nd to 4th? or is your clutch control just that bad?

No I drive in 3rd at 30mph as 4th or 5th is too high to drive comfortably at.
