Is there anyone out there like me who installs all their games even if you don't think your gonna play em, just have em on there for the "just in case" scenario? I have well over 130+ games on Steam and they are all installed, I have all my Disk games installed and all neatly organized on my 1TB "games" hard-drive and all cracked to run without the disk.

I just like to know that whatever game I wanna play (that I own) is on my PC all ready to be fired up, sort of like a library of games if you will. Anyone else like this or do you install games as and when needed?

I do take into consideration that this all takes up disk space of course, but if you have it (such as my self) why not use it. Anyway, I'd like to hear your thoughts and methods, thank you : )

I dont leave them installed, but anything I download from steam gets backed up to optical disc incase I want to play it at a later date or I have a drive fail on me. Theres not much more soul destroying then finding 32gb of GTA4 has vanished and the only way to get it back is your crappy 'upto' 20mb line that only gives you a quater of that :p

I sort of do... But not games, every blu ray/dvd/cd I get instantly gets put onto my storage drives, so that they are on the network and the appropriate folders updated to my ipod/phone ect ect when ever I sync them.

I tend to game on my laptop to be honest - so i have my "core games" installed into a 500gb drive, but not all of them - just because of the space.

I probably would on my main rig, as have plenty of storage - but depends how much my bluray rips etc... take up; they would take priority over games!

Ah, movie man mainly then!

Same, they normally take up between 25-30gig... Which isn't so bad.

I am very minimalistic so don't like to have game cases/dvd/cd cases out on show lol.

no as they dont stay 'installed' if you format you still have to install all they C++ and other rubbish or if you don't format then some games 'stop' working when not played for some time so you have to verify/update them first, i only keep 'games i like' installed, i have 17 installed now but only playing 1 game right now (dead island) :)

I keep everything installed, I have about 100 games on steam all installed and it only takes up 380GB, With hard drive space being so cheap now it only cost me about £11 for that space

I used to install as soon as I bought a game.... just to have it ready...

However, I started not finishing games - sometimes not because I didn't enjoy the ones I was playing but just because I became curious of what the other games on my drive were like... and started building up a few games as WIP.

I realised I didn't want to become one of the "I own 324789432 steam games but have only finished 3" crowd....

So now I'm just catching up on un-finished games and leaving my purchases on steam until I'm ready to play them.

I'm already in that crowd lol, so I just think meh, may as well keep going, I may have played them all one day.

I'm the same OP, a 1TB drive dedicated to games, all installed at all times.

A few often played titles get swapped over to my SSD though.

i thought i was the only one that did this lol. Although im not to bad now i still find myself installing loads of games after a clean install. I have around 60 games installed at the min

im running 2x TB drives too

I always used to. Then when I got around to playing one I hadn't played for ages...I'd delete it soon after.

Thinking, that was alright but I won't wanna play it again for another couple of months....Only to want to play it again a few weeks later

I Like To install all the ones might play and I jump around a lot eg.. play a few hours on a game then move to another one for a while :)

Up until very recently I only installed a game if I wanted to play it, but what with having several on the go at the mo and tinkering about lately with multiple mods for older titles, it's therefore so much more convenient to permanently have at least some installed e.g. Doom 3, HL2.
