Anyone Else Enjoying The Cold?

I've had the windows down tonight. Lovely induction roar when the VTEC y0 kicks in.

It's madd tyte y0!
 
I can feel the difference even with my poxy 1.6 Primera. Better low down grunt. But one thing I do not like is the fact that now the gearbox is showing up how bad it is. All notchy, whiney and crunchy for the first 20 minutes.
 
Dunno, seemed pretty quick tonight, but then my car has triple the power of my work van which i do all my miles in so the car always seems nippy compared :)
 
My car doesn't like cold starts. But once everything gets going, it feels the same as when it was in the warm :p

Also, my heater has broke :<

The vRS likes the weather as there's more cold air for the intercooler. Only problem is the mpg drop from rightfootitis. Not quite the same problem as Fox, I can live with mid 40s mpg.

The one car I did have that loved it was my Mk2 Jetta 1.3. I swear it must have had an extra 5bhp when it was under 5C (that's 10% fact fans)...
 
i'm having great fun with cold start mapping my ECU. as i didn't get a dyno cell for my birthday, i'm adjusting the mapping most mornings when i go to start the car. its gone from needing me to hold the throttle half open, and cranking for around 5 seconds whilst it coughs and kicks, to starting on the key (but then dieing if u don't put a tiny amount of throttle on). once i get the idle control valve in, that should cure that. quite suprised at how well it starts with a 5deg ingition advance. small engine, high cranking speed normally needs 20ish deg

To be honest most cars are like that when it's a really cold start. It's because the synchro's don't really work properly when very cold.
 
I reckon i would if i was silly enough to roll back the throttle on these cold roads lol ;p although the engine is really cold compared to usually but i darent wack on the power lol ill be on my ass :p
 
It does make a differance! Although I'm not liking the frosted up windscreen in the morning :(
 
I love it when I have to defrost my car. Start it up, turn on the rear heated screen and the front heated screen. Press another button that warms my car up in a couple of minutes and sit and have a smoke while it defrosts itself :D
 
My rear screen is Plastic, My heater suxs & my wipers are about as big as a cigarette, as the roof is canvas when i sit in the bucket seat it feels like i am sitting outside :p
Once it warms up though the heater is sound & driving it is loads of fun.
 
No hate it, have to come out of work after doing a night shift wanting to go home, whilst sitting freezing my nuts off waiting for my screen to demist. :( need front heated screen, although I am glad I got my electric heated mirrors so much now this weather is rolling in.

Power wise, no gains, pos car. :(
 
Yeah, I have two separate maps for my Ninja, so I can make the most out of it. Just waiting for the fog to come in and hey presto an extra 10mph lol.
