Anyone else finding themselves being more disinterested in gaming?

Decent game and quite addictive, don't let the pixel graphics put you off, when playing this game you really feel like your part of the community you play in. It's brilliant.

I just loved how my little chicks grew into hens, loved me loads and gave me big eggs every day. :D

I tend to play Fifa, then get really annoyed and turn it off for a week.

Every now and then I play GTA5 and I can get lost in it for hours, not replaying CoD anymore, which was a favourite of mine

Lol, I might give this a go, if I don't like it it seems like something my GF and younger son would love.

I'm not surprised if cod is your main game series.

It WAS my main game, not any more.

I know what people mean by indie games, I've been enjoying some remote play on the old PS+ freebies like Not A Hero and Escape Plan etc on the Vita, and these are pretty fun. Funny as well how I was one to look down my nose at these games when they are announced as WHERE'S MY FULL PRICE RETAIL GAME?!? but oddly enough I'm getting a dislike for those types of game. :o

I'm going to pick up Shovel Knight on Steam too as I've heard lots of positives about that. I also picked up a load of cheap games in the Steam sale that I have to play, but again not many triple A games in there apart from Doom and Hitman.

Maybe it's just the Triple A games space that I am tired of.

I do also have Rocket League and I should really spend more time on that to be fair.

Maybe it's just changing tastes, but new game reveals apart from Resident Evil 7 & BF1 rarely get me hyped at all, as you know there'll be the inevitable £40+ season pass to boot.

I don't think getting older and changing is what we like and don't like is the core issue...the biggest problem is with the gaming industry where publishers and developers in general are too focus on trying to do quick, simple cash-grap as lazily as possible as well as releasing games with the same concept year after year without breaking new ground (playing it safe to try to ensure sales). Gaming is becoming stale because of this. Things like Day 1 DLC and Season Pass etc are all BS IMO.

I am less interested in AAA titles as nothing is really interesting to me as it's mostly rehashes. I spend a lot more time playing indie games now.

I get this all the time..

I'm 36 now and I seem to be in retirement mode, because whenever I get some alone time from either work or everyday home life I tend to rather spend it on the sofa watching a film..

I do try games from time to time, but I find it very hard to get into them. In the last few years I have only played through 3 or 4 titles..

I go through periods when I honestly can't be bothered to play anything and I think it's pretty normal. There was a time when I practically gave up gaming for 2-3 years (I sold my GPU and was running on integrated;p).

Now I have a pretty decent gaming/music PC and a PS4 which eats most of my gaming time, since its exclusives really manage to draw me in, as was the case with PS2 and 3.

I still usually don't game everyday, sometimes I prefer more passive entertainment or making music/messing about on instruments, learning languages or whatever.

I still like gaming though and there are some games that are simply too good to pass up and once I get hooked I try to play daily at least a bit.

Playing what though? Apart from Binding of Isaac I haven't found anything that I want to go back to. Genuine question.

Stardew Valley, Rogue Legacy, Isaac, Armello, hotline Miami off the top of my head. Plenty of others installed.

I think main attraction is they tend to be good dip in and out'ers.

I haven't been on my PS4 in weeks. Only have FFXV on it at the moment but I don't have the urge to play it. Also have Watchdogs 1 and 2, Max Payne 3, Mass Effect 3, I am Setsuna and Cities Skylines on the PC to play when I can be bothered :D I find that sometimes it takes me a while to get into a game, but once I do I can play it for hours. Metal Gear Solid 5 TPP was the last non starter that I finally got into before quitting at the last few repeat missions. I keep trying to get into Watchdogs but it hasn't clicked yet :o

I lost all interest in gaming for awhile. But then I went back and played some of my favorite games from the old days, games that I hadn't played in ages, game like Half Life 2 and Mass effect.

Shortly after I got the Rift and the Touch controllers and now I game all the time. It has brought me back to that time when games were fresh and new and the most important thing was the gameplay.

I find games today are either overly simplistic thus not holding my attention for long or overly complicated controls/gameplay mechanics. As i get older i have less time to play the complicated games i like, often forgetting where i was and the control scheme. The simpler games just bore me to death and hold my attention for an hour tops.

I just play madden 17 on the xbox or some RTS/BF1 on the pc.

I spent £400 odd on a Pro and then £750 on a 4k TV yet only play FIFA, ha! For as long as I remember COD and FIFA have just been my games of choice, I would buy other popular games such as GTA, GOW, Uncharted etc but always go back to COD/FIFA, my interest in these two titles never dwindled, interest in other games did. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing...!

The player bases of those two series in particular do carry a certain stigma with them :p

FIFA is a cancer within gaming IMO. I must have played about 50 games last year (FIFA 16) and about 20 this year (FIFA 17). Which is a big change from the 300 or so from the years before that. I only bought 17 because it was £15 on XB1 otherwise I wouldn't have got it this year but at £15 I thought why not just in case.

COD's TTK just feels so wrong after Destiny. You cannot counter an engagement. I don't think I could play it again.

You should try rocket league, BF1 or Destiny 2 when it launches in Autumn.

I recently took a 3 month break just before Christmas. Not because I lost interest in games, more because the culture surrounding them was becoming increasingly toxic. Still is actually, look at the palaver with Horzion Zero Dawn and all the whiney 'meninists'. I just try my best to steer clear of it now and just focus on the garmz. I don't think I could ever truly go without them. There such a big facet of my personality after so many years.
