Anyone else finding themselves being more disinterested in gaming?

I recently finished Witcher 3 and its expansions. Now what? I don't think there is another console game in existence that will beat that. No chance.

Not disinterested, but I find myself being way more picky about the games I play and won't waste my limited gaming time playing a game I'm not enjoying.

I've found that I go through phases when it comes to gaming. I'll have a period of time where I want to do nothing but play video games and I lose interest in all other forms of entertainment but then I will have a phase where I have no desire to game.

I think for me it's the repetitive of some games out these days. A lot of games mechanically are very similar and I, as Terminal Boy above me, am starting to get very picky.

You dont have to buy DLC. Most of it is crap anyway. Cant remember ever specifically buying any DLC. By the time DLC arrives I am often done with the game.

Sometimes it is good to take a break and just get on with your life. When you come back you'll find quite a few titles that interest you and they'll have matured too. Also if you've got CoD and BF as your main gaming focus, you're gonna have a bad time.

I'm in my 40's and sick of PC gaming so bought my first PS4 in December, followed by a PS4 Pro in Feb as I was so surprised by the 2017 exclusives and I'm already playing more games on that then the PC (I only play Witcher 3 on this now). Grab some titles with a strong storyline - Mad Max is very good and differs from the usual shooty game formula, horizon dawn is excellent fun and don't forget Yakuza 0 - they're all different from the usual games we're used to.

I'm losing interest a bit because so many games are open world that just drop you on a massive map to do whatever. I like linear games, they tend to deliver the best stories.

Horizon Zero Dawn has swept this away from me. Really enjoyed it and gutted I've finished it but I honestly couldn't put it down.

Mass Effect next week as well so my gaming interest is healthy again.

I always have a drop after finishing a dark souls game (inc bloodborne and Demons souls) that i normally need to play something really simple before going back to something else as nothing feels as satisfying afterwards.

due to this i tend to play through one of the games every 6 months or so as nothing else has that same feeling to me.
