Anyone else got a tefal quickcup?

I got one last week and it's fantastic! I really recommend them. It starts the boiling water coming out in just 3 seconds :eek:

They're supposed to be more economical to use as well.

You can get as much as you want out but the normal amount is 200ml. It's really good.

Thinking of getting one for the girlfriends Nan for Christmas, so she won't have to lift up a kettle etc. Are they easy to use?

Yeah, they have filters that have to replaced when the light comes on. I think they are great and offer a 65% saving over a normal kettle in power consumption.

However, I would love it even more if it chilled water too (it only offers room temp).

It heats water to 90C and if you pay £60 you got ripped. You can find them easily for £45-£50 in most high street stores.

I've just read reviews, apparently they don't boil the water = no good for tea!

Took mine back to that catalogue shop place.
Firstly it doesnt boil water, it heats it, which is ok for coffee but leads onto my second gripe. The water isnt hot enough to make tea with, by the time its been in the pot and stirred its already cold

(ok not cold but not what I would call hot)

Also I think I'm right in saying that if you live in a hard water area they need to be de-scaled more often than a normal kettle too.

It's really easy to use. It's almost boiling water, I've used it for tea loads and it all tastes fine. A cup of tea is still too hot to drink at first and just cools quicker. I much prefer this to my old kettle. It does have filters but I don't think they cost that much.

seen loads of these come back for varying reasons since they came out at my store, personally Id buy the green energy kettle which has 2 chambers and heats up its main chamber of water to boiling in around 10 seconds, will get link to them shortly (as I need to find a place which isnt a competitor lol)

I was going to say, I remember a massive thread on this not long ago.

I'd really like to try one of these, the cost of filters might put me off a bit though even if it is only a few quid once a month plus I like my tea to be scalding hot

Of course! If I had time to make it in a pot then I wouldn't need a kettle that gave me hot water in 3 seconds

I hate stewed tea anyway, the teabag gets a quick dip and that's it.
