Tap Water in my house is *** if you run it so it's ice cold.
Bottled Water > everything though.

I had some LOL pie last night. I had it with a side of ROFL Fries.

I hope you had some LOLLERCAUST ketchup with that

Thats because british water tastes crap, unless your talking about bottled water which is much much better. But tap water here really does taste awful...

Scottish tap water tastes fine, south of england the water tastes stale though and I've no idea why.

<Hijack> No I don't like the Sound it makes.. </Hijack>

I don't mind Tap water in Swindon.. Our water is a hard water area though.. grrr..

I absolutely hate bottled water. I can taste the crap in that.

Our water here is pretty nice and not hard water. I cant understand people why buy bottled water. It's just seems like another "omg it well elfy innit" fad. I'd sooner drink fish poo out the river, at least tap water is that full of chemicals.

Tap water here in N.I tastes great. When I was living over in manchester the water coming out of the taps tasted like pure ******* ****. It was rank. I've no idea what you do to it over there, but I have to say that it does taste worse.

Pass it through a water filter and chill it for a few hours.

Like to see anyone tell the difference between it and a bottle of mineral water.

Here in the south east it has a very high calcium content from the limestone bedrock but once that’s filtered out its as good as anything you pay £99 a pint for.

I've noticed that, Southampton's water is fine, good mix of metallic and chalk but when I visit my GF in Sandhurst it tastes like it's been sitting in the pipes for too long. Could be due to the very large water system in the area.

What the hell is hard water

Higher concentrations of minerals in it, it's mainly due to the surrounding geography at the reseviors etc.
IIRC limestone is one of the main causes of "hard" water, as it disolves slightly into the water and you can taste it - it also collects on things like pipes or heating elements that are exposed to the water.

As for the taste of the water, I quite like it where I live (I drink several pints a day), but don't like it at various relatives houses.

I don't like out tap water much, so I drink it fast! I think pure H2O (distilled water?) tastes of nothing at all, I want some of that :p

Possibly better, don't they monitor tap water quality much closer than bottled water quality?

Also, does anyone remember that expensive water the cococola company was selling a while back?
I beleive it turned out to just be plain tap water they had run through a fairly basic filter at one of their main U.K. bottling plants.

Can't stand tap water, our stuff at home smells of chlorine. Bottled sparkling water is alright though when mixed with juice, esp. elderflower 'Bottlegreen'.
