Anyone else HATE WASD?

anyone tried this?

I use the standard WASD setup, while binding q to microphone chat for games like L4D2. I find using the arrow keys far too crampt, as its close to the mouse. For left handed people, i can see the arrows being more useful. But for me its the quick access to loads of other keys around it that helps me.

just hold your hand out in front of you, let your fingers curl naturally. Aim for the middle finger on W, and your little finger on Shift. The rest should naturally fall into place. Thumb on space, ring on A and index on D. I honestly couldn't use any other method.

Also, Razer Lycosa has illuminated keys. 3 settings: No lights, all lights, and WASD lights. the WASD lights are literally just those 4 keys.

WASD is the best option. At first I used the arrow keys but after a while i tried WASD and I thought that is much better than the arrow keys.I've been using WASD for almost 7 years and now it feels like my hand has a memory of its own and knows what to do.I also use arrow keys for racing games but I still keep my left hand on WASD just because it became a habbit:p.I don't think that there is really any better than WASD even my 10 years old brother uses it as well as my 6 years old sis'.:D

I got so use to using E and Q i cant use arrow keys anymore =( my mates left handed and he uses WASD. Guess practice. He also crosses his arms meaning hes playing in a right handed position too. I remember having a really cool set up for morrowind on my old laptop. I used the touchpad to look using my thumb. Double tap to open/enter and WASD to move. My right hand was free to use right click to attack and do nothing in the down time lol.

Best part you could change the tap to be right click and move with your right hand using the arrow keys. Left click would be your attack then =) I actually want a keyboard with a touch pad now >.>

@Madness can you get that for righthanded and how much?

WSAD & mouse, as said is Uber once you get the muscle memory, I find FPS's on consoles unplayable now.

Stick with it and you will see the light - a few hectic online death matches will soon have you fragging like a pro!
I imagine a single player game would take longer to get used to the config as the pressure is not as intense.

I started on arrow keys and have giant freakish deformed mutantb hands so its perfect for me

backspace insert home page up kp7 something
enter delete end page down kp4 something
shift arrow up Kp1 - stab melle
ctrl arrow left, down, right 0 (push to talk)

Left handed here i use arrow keys and number pad.

numberpad 1,2 is my left and right strafe keys , 3 would be prone and the numberpad del would be crouch and numberpad 0 as my jump.

As long as you dont take your left hand on and off wasd all the time you shouldn't lose where it is, odd. I've grew up with gameboy, ps1, etc, but i think with pc controls you get more precision over a controller, especially in fps it comes into its own. My advice use wasd on easy games to start with, and get a 360 controller for windows or another pc controller and play games that its compatible with. I know Fallout 3, Assassin's Creed 1, Bioshock, Fifa 09/10 work with it.

The true point ti WASD, is that you have
QWERFZXCV `[tab][shift][ctrl] - for random other binds
12345 - for gun selection

I bought a 360 controller for racing games, and more importantly, If I Jump in a jet fighter or a chopper in BF2 I can grab the controller quicky and swap back to WSAD when Im back on foot :D

WASD on CS for over a decade & love it, it is a bit odd at 1st but stick at it.

Even when I'm playing GRID with the arrow keys under my right hand, my left hand still settles best on WASD lol.

I used to use arrows a lot when i first started gaming, not sure why, but yeah, it took me awhile to get used to WASD (like a month or so)

i ued to use arrows for sof2 but soon got into wasd for call of duty never looked back

i did have an inbetween perion using a zboard fang tho was alright tbh
