Anyone else here throw controllers?

many moons ago i did... broke several ps one controllers and a few dreamcast ones

my most cringeworthy throwing incident happened when all of 2 mins from my first master league title on pes 2 on the ps one i conceded two goals to lose the match and the title due to , in my eyes, the most slack piece of a.i defensive placement i have ever seen to which the only solution was... throwing the console out of the window.

now i have said it out loud it sounds not too bad:D

since then i resort to swearing loudly at the screen.

I personally never have. However one of my idiot friends punched a wall out of frustration once while playing GTA, he had to go to hospital :D

Another one of my mates punched a cabinet after being repeatedly beaten by me in Pro Evo, we stopped playing after that :p

Not throwing controllers, I know, but still funny :D

did you really??

cant tell if you are being literal

aye.. much as it pains me to admit it.. i did. i didnt throw it with much force and it landed in freshly dug shrubs etc, so lucky enough it did work again. Picking it out under the watch of a neighbour was fun...

me 'hiya'
neighbour ' eh.. evening' looks at console
me ' ah .. new i would find it somewhere ' goes back in

what a prat eh?:D

I've come close a few times whilst playing PS3. I get an urge to throw the controller but in the end I just grip it until my knuckles go white and shake it whilst screaming "KAAAHHHHNNNN!" at the top of my lungs like Captain Kirk.

threw my gamecube controller at the floor once after Winning Eleven whiped my master league file. Hasn't happened since :o

Nope,

Instinctively I have nearly done it a few times but presence of mind takes over again just in time (which is a good thing as my monitor would be the one catching my controller).

None of the current games I play make me that mad.

Trying to beat the final boss in Sonic 1 and loosing to M Bision in Street fighter 2 Champ ed on Megadrive when I was about 9 years old :)

I have had a few moments, my megadrive controller has taken a beating, and i've been known to rip the telephone wire out of the wall when it's playing up. :o

My finest hour was playing Total Annihilation. I had just got it, and started playing, and got miles into the campaign. Hadn't bothered to save. Anyway there was this mission where I had to capture a nuclear silo on an island, guarded to the hilt. I spent just over three hours building, killing, and clearing the area. Eventually it was safe to walk my commander across.

I got him onto the island, and as he got close my navy decided to, for no reason, open fire on the silo. Cue me frantically trying to stop them, but it was too late, and I failed the mission. I felt my anger boiling up inside. Then, Windows 98 decided that it had had enough and that a BSOD was in order. All those hours' work... gone.

I picked up my base unit and slammed it into the wall. HARD. Then kicked, and kicked, and kept going.

When I had calmed down, it wouldn't turn on. Turns out in that thirty seconds of red mist, i'd managed to kill the motherboard, hard drive, CD drive, and PSU, as well as leaving the case screwed up. £500 worth of damage.

I came amazingly close to doing it, but never have. It happened several times to me on Halo 2 :) I hate games that stress me though, games are meant to be relaxing and fun. I started taking regular breaks recently as there's a lot of stress in my life already and when I sit down to play a game and relax - it dosnt help if it winds me up more :p

Usually when I come off Halo 3 from playing multiplayer I am stressed so Ive simply just stopped playing it and I haven't really looked back!

This is probably why casual gaming is growing more and more. Shorter pick up and play games are likely to be less stressful than Xbox/PS3 affairs. I'm playing more on the DS and PSP now than ever.

Hmm, probably worse than throwing a controller many many years ago (when I was around 10) I used to have quite a bad temper when I played some games. I actually bit the controller for some stupid reason! :)

Not now though, I'm too good on games to die :)

This is going back about ten years...

I'm not as bad as that now - worst I get is that I swear like it's going out of fashion.

Last big tantrum saw me cast PES6 out of my bedroom window, and break the disk holder on my PSP. It still works but I can't play games on it. I didn't mean to break it, I was just trying to get PES out of it so I could sling it! :D

That was about 15 months back. I sodding hate PES.

Did this last night over a FIFA loss.

Destroyed my right analogue.

£60 for two new controllers. Ouch.

Bloody hell dude! lol

That's crazy!

Although its amazing what you do when the red mist appears. My mate was playing Fight Night 3 online, was beating the hell out of this guy, then the other guy gets a cheap elbow in which totally turns around the fight and he ends up losing because of a cut

My mate just exploded, picked up his 360. Put it high above his head, then just brung it down on his knee as hard as he could, smashed the case open, then kept stomping on it until he could get access to the game, picked it up then just lobbed it out the window

I sort of sat there in silence for like 5 minutes just staring at this mess of a 360

Then just said

"I think the eject button would have done fine..."

He sort of looked at me, fearing a similar fate, I went to get up and then he just said

"Fancy a trip to GAME tomorrow? Might need a new 360"

I don't play games with him anymore, I try and encourage Yoga instead
