Anyone else like it when...

Charisma didn't help them achieve this. Intelligence did.

A combination of intelligence and charisma did. Combined they'll take you places. I don't know why you can't grasp that. I tend to find people who lack charisma castigate people who have charisma as being empty, and seriously downplay how important it is.

All human interaction is based on charisma. You can be brilliant but without charisma get nowhere.

Edit : Perhaps this will help you understand. I find people who do not understand the importance of interpersonal skills do not have strong interpersonal skills and do not recognise or rate interpersonal skills in others. I find people who can at least appreciate their importance, even if they don't have a natural talent for them, are able to at least get by.

I can't grasp it as I said he doesn't come across as a charismatic individual to me. You seem to be saying that he has charisma just from being intelligent. He does not draw an audience in when he speaks and that's why they had someone voice for him in his series.

This has nothing to do with my interpersonal skills thanks.

I'm not. I'm saying he has a combination of both intelligence and charisma.
He does not draw an audience in when he speaks and that's why they had someone voice for him in his series.[/QUOTE]The series I was talking about was Master of the Universe, which includes many exerts of him speaking. He's a compelling speaker, despite having no voice of his own (and an American accent imposed on him). That is his charisma shining through.

No it's not charisma shining through, all he is doing is reading information back to you like any audiobook would. In fact it's worse as audibook speakers have more fluidity and expression.

Compare the viewing figures of Into the Universe (Stephen Hawking) and Wonders of the Solar System/Universe (Brian Cox).

Just because Stephen Hawkings is limited in verbal communication does not take away his charismatic attitude. If you've never read anything by him and your entire "he's not charismatic" argument is based on the fact he uses a computer to talk, then you're arguing from a ill-informed view point.

My 2p, Disagree if you will. But that's how you've come across. I wont go around in circles arguing with you though :p

I enjoy a good game of 'fake boobs or real boobs' - and it's very rare I'm wrong.

Will have to have a watch of the video when I get in from work and report my findings :D
