Anyone else not a big drinker?

Since I was first able to pass for 18 at the age of 15 (I'm 16 atm) I started drinking.

Whenever I drink it's usually about 10-12 units (about 6 pints), don't drink that much but have done quite a bit over the past week or two.

I dont drink either but it doesnt stop me from going out and having a laugh, its a pity a load of my mates seem to think the only of having a good time is to get totally bladdered.

It saves me absolutely LOADS of money and leaves me with funds to spend on things other students cant simply becuase they spend all their cash on beer :)
I haven't had a drink for one year tomorrow. Like Fox said, it enables you to save loads of money which I spend on worthwhile things such as new car :D

wohoo, it's the same here. I get all sorts of weird looks and odd questions having to explain myself.

Exactly, most my mates are like this. Some of which don't know when to turn it in.

One of my flatmates thinks that is the only thing to do. He goes out and gets drunk then gets a taxi home and runs out of it so he doesn't have to pay. Last time he did this he threw up all over the flat.

What is it about this that is fun? I don't mind the odd night out but getting legless, avoiding taxi fares and then throwing up? Nah thanks.

I'm not so sure about the savings aspect. OK the savings are there, but they're not as huge as people make out unless you get through £200/weekend on nights out.

I spend maybe £30 a week on alcohol or alcohol related activity.

That said, I drank a bottle of champagne, on my own, at home last night. :(

Your not alone, I'm 26 and don't touch the stuff. I'd much rather have something a little more thirst quenching like Coke or Juice.

I'll only have wine or something on special occasions.

I'm not against it, it's just not for me.

You forgot everyday, Christmas Day, New Year's Day.;)

Not a big drinker myself. I would consider myself a classic binge drinker as I only drink to get absolutely ******* wasted. I don't think I have ever drunk socially and just had a couple, I either drink to get drunk and have a good time or drink soft drinks and drive.

The odd glass of wine is good for your health, you just have the problem of what to do with the rest of the bottle once its open ;-)

I do counter the alcohol with serious amounts of water...
