anyone else send joke emails

Emails like that can get someone sacked, especially using someone elses login in that way.

Not funny OP, sorry.

We do it at work amongst a few of us but it's always done light heartedly and will usually be something along the lines of them offering to bring cakes in for everyone tomorrow. It's kinda fun but it also promotes security, in that people will rarely leave their desktops unlocked.

Now that is funny! :D

sadly we didn't have time to draw a fake locker on the front of the cardboard box it was in :p

I think it depends on wha kind of work environment the person is in to be honest. Obviously people would get sacked for this, but maybe OP's company is a bit more relaxed and things like that aren't frowned upon in comparison to other workplaces.

OP email was too obvious.

Try being a little more subtle next time.

Was thinking the same thing :D

Surprised by all the hate. It was only too a few in-office colleagues. However, I do agree that it could have gone badly wrong, as sometimes people don't react like you expect (just look at the thread LOL), and could indeed have ended up in a disciplinary or worse.

No but i would screenshot the desktop then set the screenshot as the background and then hide the desktop icons.

Person comes back to computer "hurr durr, it no worky?!"

Or just alt gr + down arrow to quickly flip the screen upside down. Works on intel graphics.

Following on from Tefal's story...

Many years ago when I was still at college during the exam period we waited until a mate was in an exam and then got his car good. It was a pretty crappy Nissan Sunny, but he'd "pimped it out" with a few bits and pieces from Halfords (only the basics - racing mats, "cool" pedals and gear knob), so we thought we'd help him out...

Popped to the local recycling depot early in the morning and filled the boot of my other mates car with box-cardboard, stocked up on a few rolls of tin-foil and some bin bags, a few pairs of scissors and we went to work...

Pretty much stuck together a full car body-kit made out of cardboard; bumpers, siderails, hood vents, a big fat spoiler at the back, used cutout paper to make headlight/rearlight masks, cutout some rim shapes and wrapped them in tinfoil then stuck them to the wheels, taped bin bags over the windows for that classy tinted look.

Then we hid in bushes nearby and filmed his reaction when he came out of his exam, was all rather amusing - I might still have a few pictures of the car somewhere if I can find them :D

I may or may not have seen this done before.

I have to say "I need to speak to you urgently, can you give me a call please" sent to about 100 people was fairly amusing to watch the aftermath of.
