Anyone else struggle to get comfortable?

I realised today that no matter what car I'm driving, I always struggle to find a comfortable seating position? I'm having to constantly adjust the seat, especially the back, in order to remain comfortable.

I'm not especially tall or large, but I'm quite unusually proportioned in that my torso is quite long compared to my legs - shirts are always too short and trousers always too long!

Anyone else find this, or any tips that I might be missing?

Dont find this at all, i did 105,000 miles in my Seat Leon diesel from new, and was never uncomfortable. So its not a posh car thing either.

I would suggest that you should always keep the seat back fairly upright, dont slouch.

It's not so much that I'm finding I get aches and pains, more that it never feels 'right'. I'll feel like I'm too upright so I'll wind it back a bit, only to feel like I'm too reclined 20 minutes later and have to wind it back again

To be honest i find quite the opposite, i rarely even adjust the seats in vehicles as long as i "fit" and never give it a second thought. I'd generally never adjust a seat any further than simply backwards or forwards unless it was one of my own and it was a long term prospect.

Weird.

I find myself adjusting it constantly if someone else has adjusted it. It never seems to be quite the same as before :p

Once I get used to it again, though, I don't touch it.

In most unfamiliar cars I can get comfy pretty quickly, except Vauxhalls. For every Vauxhall hire car I've had for work, I've been half way down the motorway before I've found a vaguely comfortable position.

I never adjust the seats in either of my cars. A few quick presses of the adjustment buttons in the ST and I was in heaven. Lovely seats <3

Pug 206 GTi - Felt too high, not enough bolster.
EP3 Facelift - Awesome seats, slightly hard.
E36 323i - Comfy as. Good all round
Seat Leon - Excellent
GTA - Very similar to the EP3, albeit leather goodness.

Can get comfortable in most cars, but heavily dislike being sat up high. I also suffer from position fidgetyness seeing as the wife changes all my seat positions :/

Im quite long in the body too, the secret is you have to buy a big **** off car with loads of space.

Sorry iv had a few, i'l go now :)

Oddly my old 156 was probably the one I had fewest problems with!

Aye for all the stories ive heard about italian cars, the 156 doesnt suffer from the monkey driver position at all. Are all 156's reach and rake adjustable, or just the GTA?

Haha don't worry I'm used to that :p

I've always preferred bigger cars although oddly my hair brushes against the roof in the accord

Might change it for something daft like a 7 series now that my commute is 1 mile rather than 30 each way... Got the job if anyone's interested :D

My prefacelift v6 lusso was adjustable for both, so I assume so!

Congratulations that man!!! Well done, shall we start speccing you back into the world of proper motoring :)

Nope can't say I find this, other than driving in my car I don't have an arm rest and am at a loss of what to do with my arm. Stupid van, it was never a problem before this job.

In small cars yes I do find it very awkward to drive comfortably for any longer than half an hour or so, I prefer cars with low seats and almost straight legs hence why i've had my 300zx 8 years, a 300 mile trip to Newquay straight through was painless.

Cheers :D

Not sure what I'll do car wise, will probably keep the accord for a while as it suits my need for something practical to use occasionally, but long term I'm not sure. Quite fancy some sort of German estate with a big engine.

Anyway, general consensus seems to be it's just me, so never mind!

If you want comfy you want VOLVO. Are you prepared for the vultures to swoop down to pick at your car purchasing habits? lol
