Its just one of those games where i say ill have a quick go as im bored but then end up playing for hours. Walking across the underside of that bridge was one of the best parts of the game, the music was so eerie.
Exactly the same with me, loaded it up one time and carried on till I finished it. I liked to replay battles so that I ended up not getting too hurt or wasting too much ammo.

I did feel like I was exploring with HL2, and that Id see some locations. I think its part of the game to follow the story line too. The explaination at the end is surreal.

Graphicly for a 3 year old game its very very good imo. and the engine is still one of the best around.

Still dont like the actual game though lol.

I love that part aswell. After all the action was said and done, I loved walking around that area and just soak up the desolace and eerieness of the the whole Highway 17. I've walked it many times instead of driving the bike. There's just something about the wind, sea and loneliness that appeals to me

How can people say hl2 had bad graphics.

They cannot... Not honestly anyway.

I mean, after all, when it was out, was it not the msot graphically stunning game of all time?

Even if it wasnt, then for so many magazines and reviewers to say it was, there had to be somethign in it.

You will never keep everyone happy though... Someone will always whinge no matter what you do.

I have yet to see a game that has perfect AI, as well as Perfect graphics, and have perfect gameplay all at the same time.

I agree. I remember installing the game when it first came out, soon realised my PC Gaming was pretty much over as it ran like ****. but I did think at the time it was way out there with the graphics. Very nice looking.

I've since returned to PC gaming, recently put together a E6600 with 2GB and 8800GTS, so promptly re-installed the game on fresh tin and I'll admit it still has the WOW factor, considering in gaming terms its now an older game.

Played a few hours last night, and I'll have to say, its not as good as the first HL, but all in all, still an enjoyable game. I'm more into war and RTS games, but war FPS games such as medal of honour appeal, so for me this isn't a type of game I'd instantly say is a fav genre. But seeing as I played HL 1, and I had a copy of HL2 as I fell for the hype when it came out, might as well give it a go, and its actually a decent game I think.

I've not tried Doom3, had a copy of Far Cry given to me, I've recently loaded this up as well, and both are equally good games. Playing HL2 in an 8800GTS with all the settings max'd out, at 1280 x 1024 is very nice, so yes I'd agree HL2 graphics are good. I know about as much about the engine as I do about nuclear missiles.... diito.. Apart from one will suck the paint off your house and leave you a very nice day glow if it hasn't burned all your skin off... :D
