Anyone fixed their own 360 RROD?

Just repaired my 360 for about the fourth time this year. It's really odd how everytime I've fixed it I've tightened the heatsink screws at different strengths. Everytime it RRODs I just re-apply AS5 and adjust the screw tightness, eventually it comes back.

Got fed up with the annoying clips on the back, ended up smashing all of them so opening the 360 only takes about 20 seconds now (haven't bothered with half the screws either).

Worth pointing out from my experience:

- You need T6 and T10 Torx screwdriver bits

- My local B+Q branch had different codes for the bolts and washers, easier to look for 5mm x 10mm panhead machine screws, M5 washers and M6 nylon washers.

- Trim a little off the edge off 2 of the nylon washers to allow them to fit next to each other where the 2 heat sinks nearly meet.

- use some fine grade sandpaper (1200/1500 grit ) to help remove the remaining residue on the heatsinks, a good scrub with this should help restore the bare metal beautifully.

hope that helps

:)
